Dipper's pov

The house was empty. At least it looked that way from the doorway. My footsteps echoed loudly as I walked inside. The house was huge. How was I going to find them?

When I walked into the living room it hit me. A sharp metallic smell. Blood. I saw a trail on the ground and followed it behind a couch, that's where I found him. McGucket was a twisted mess of bones and guts, barely recognizable. That demon must have killed him.

I heard a laugh, Mabel's laugh. It came from above me so I ran for the stairs. I searched every room on the second floor but found nothing. So I tried the third floor. I still didn't see anything. I screamed in frustration and dropped to the floor.

I cried. I cried for Mabel, for McGucket, for everyone else. I cried because I was useless at doing anything heroic. What would mom and dad do when they found out I lost my own sister. I was supposed to protect her. I... I..... I saw an entrance to the attic.

I opened the hatch and pulled the ladder down, climbing into the cold and damp room. No, room was too nice of a word, this was a cell. In the center there was a table set for a tea party with two people sitting at it.

The first was some kind of..... monster, made of cardboard boxes. It had a crude face drawn on it with marker. It was clearly staring directly at me. The other figure was Mabel. She was trapped in a strange dreamy trance. I tried to run to her but was stopped by a giant bubble. I remembered last year, when Bill trapped Mabel in a bubble that kept her happy so she wouldn't want to leave.

I pounded on the bubble.
"MABEL!"

The figure floated towards me. Smiling. Everything went black.
