Dipper's pov

Nothing about this plan sat right with me. This Annabelle girl was a demon with Bill Cypher's blood running in her veins. She could be working with him for all we know. Of course I seemed to be the only person considering that.

We walked through the woods towards what used to be Northwest Manor, which was where McGucket had set up shop after the last apocalypse. We were about halfway there when the temperature suddenly dropped.

"Guys, do you feel that?"

Gavin and Maxwell exchanged a look of confusion.
"Not really."

"The temperature just got super low. How did you not notice?"

Maxwell shrugged.
"I'm dead."

Gavin nodded.
"And I spend all my time around spirits which give off cold temperatures so I'm used to it."

I looked to Mabel for confirmation but she was.... gone. Maxwell and Gavin seemed to notice too. I called out for her.
"MABEL!"
I turned to the others.
"Where could she have gone?"

Gavin seemed to consider something.
"Was she here before the temperature dropped?"

"Yes."

"And she is incredibly childish. Correct?"

"Well I guess kinda."

Maxwell adjusted his hat.
"Well then I'm sorry to say that you ain't getting your sister back."

I panicked.
"WHAT? WHY?"

"Well," Gavin started. "It appears your sister has been taken by not just a ghost, but a incredibly powerful demon."

Maxwell nodded.
"CBF."

They had told us about that one earlier. It befriended children then drove them slowly insane. I can't let that happen to Mabel.
"We have to save her."
I pointed at Gavin.
"You said you could sense paranormal stuff right? Find the thing that took my sister."

Gavin closed his eyes then opened them again almost immediately.
"There's too much demonic influence about. I can't get a clear read."

I screamed into my hat.
"There's got to be a way to find it."

Maxwell made a face that either meant he had an idea or he was going pickpocket me.
"Are there any abandoned houses around here? Something large and possibly once home to a child?"

I shook my head.
"Nothing except maybe Northwest Manor. But it's not abandoned. We're going there to get McGucket."

Gavin sighed and his eyes flashed pale green for a second (reference to a story by DeathXCreativity ).
"I don't think he needs it where he is. I'm sorry."

I didn't say anything. I just started running towards the manor and they followed along behind me. Nobody messes with my sister. Not Cypher. Not Gideon. Not those stupid gnomes. And definitely not some stupid possessed cardboard box.
