Ebony's pov

Dipper played the tape and we all watched closely, well, except Ghost, who had gone all twitchy, not a good sign. Toast was holding his hand but I think that was mainly so he couldn't reach his knife.

After a few minutes the tape showed to people walk into the shop. The first must have been Toast's twin, Gavin, the other was.... Annabelle. She wore jeans and a gray shirt, around her arm was what looked like a bandage and she was wearing a pair of aviators. Wait, aviators?

"Hold it."

The others all looked at me.
"What is it," asked Dipper, pausing the video.

"Annabelle hates aviators. She says the nose pieces bug her. The last time she wore them was to hide that she had a black eye."

Mabel seemed to catch on.
"So you're saying she's hiding something?"

"Definitely. I just don't know what."

Toast studied the image on the screen.
"Look at that bandage. Gavin must have done something to her."

I felt the tips of my ears go red.
"What do you mean?"

"Gavin is a 'scientist' and he tends to use human test subjects for his experiments. It's possible he may be testing something on Miss Annabelle."

I grabbed Toast by the arm.
"I swear to God, if he did something to her I will kill both of you."

Ghost suddenly spoke up.
"Johnny, I don't feel very well. I'm gonna wait in the van."

We both looked at him.

Casket, he mouthed.

We nodded and glanced at the twins to make sure they hadn't seen that. They didn't need to learn Jimmy's secret. I was lucky I was still alive after finding out.

After Ghost left, Toast turned back to the video feed and had Dipper play it again. Nothing else unusual happened, except towards the end we caught a glimpse of what looked like a syringe in Gavin's pocket.

"If Gavin is doing experiments," Toast murmured, "He has to have a lab somewhere."
He turned to the twins.
"Do you two know of anywhere someone could preform experiments without being found?"

The two looked at each other and seemed to be having a silent conversation. After a minute they both said at the same time,
"The bunker."
