Chapter Eighteen
Thalia was still lying on the ground. Jughead attempted to remove the roots and leaves from Thalia's body. She released a small sudden smile from her lips as she was finally able to move her limbs in the slightest bit. She sat up slowly so that she didn't pass out and Jughead helped her to rest her body up along with a tree. She tilted her head back to feel the sun on her face. Veronica was still silent as she finished wiping away her tears and started to compose herself around Thalia.
"Thalia, is it okay if I ask you a few questions?" Jughead asked calmly as Archie brought some water for her to drink
She didn't say anything, but she nodded at Jughead.
"Okay...." he said taking a deep breath "Do you know who I am?"
"I don't think I've ever seen you before" she said trying to focus on Jughead's face if there was anything familiar
"When you first opened your eyes you said the word Jughead. That's my name. Why did you say it if you don't know who I am?" he asked
"When I was a young girl, before I was sent here from Olympus my father, Zeus, use to tell me these stories about a boy named Jughead. He was this incredible hero that would protect me in my darkest times" she said trying to think back to her old life. It took a while for her to fit all the pieces together. "When I left Olympus the last thing my father said to me was "find Jughead" and I guess that's what I must've been doing here"
Jughead then turned to look at Veronica. He had a face of complete bewilderment because he didn't know what to think about what was going on. "Did you know who I was before we met?" Jughead asked Veronica trying to place some pieces together
"Of course not, Jug" she assured him. Veronica then faced Thalia. She wanted to wait until she was had some more of her memories back, but she just blurted out "Thalia do you remember who I am?"
"I didn't know any adults back then" she said not answering the question
"No, when you were ten years old. Do you remember seeing me as a ten year old?" Veronica asked again getting nervous that her friend wouldn't remember her
Thalia just looked at Veronica she tilted her head slightly hoping it would work for her to recognize the girl in front of her. SHe just stared at Veronica for a about thirty seconds before she shouted "RONNIE!" and leaped into Veronica's arms drowning her in a hug
"I missed you so much Thalia" Veronica said tightly wrapping her arms around Thalia
As the two girls broke away from their hug finally; Jughead put his arms around Thalia and attempted to get her on her feet. He wanted to bring her into camp so that she would be protected and she could finally have a place to lay down and get better. He put his arms around her waist and let Thalia used his shoulder as a holder so that she didn't have to let out too much energy by walking.
