Chapter Twenty-Eight
The group was transported to the edge of the Empire State Building in New York City. They were standing on the street directly outside the doors of the building. They all looked around the area completely confused. The wind was harshly blowing towards them and it was lightly snowing.
"Guys! We have a problem" Thalia said trying to get all their attentions
"What's wrong?" Percy asked
Thalia pointed at a large billboard in the city that projected the time, date, and temperature at the current moment. They saw that the weather was deeply below freezing and the time was just before midnight.
"The Gods are angry. It's disrupting with all of the weather patterns around the world" Abigail said seeing the news forecast directly next to the billboard
"No, the date. It's December 31st" Thalia said
"Tha- that's not possible. We left camp on the 25th there's no way we were gone that long already" Lucas stated
"It's the Underworld. Time doesn't work down there just as it doesn't work on Mount Olympus. We were in the Underworld for almost six days" Percy exclaimed beginning to get nervous. They knew that if a new year in the mortal world started then they wouldn't be allowed up on Mount Olympus until granted permission by the guardian. "We need to get up there now!!" he shouted as they all sprinted inside towards the elevator
There was still no guardian at the elevator so they had time to get up to Mount Olympus.
They are crammed into the elevator hoping everyone would fit. Except the elevator was huge so they had enough room in the end. Abigail stared at the elevator buttons. There was a special sequence that needed to be pushed in order for the elevator to go up to Olympus to see the Gods. She thought extremely hard about what the sequence was. She was able to hear everyone yelling in her ear that she needed to hurry up before the guardian showed up.
"I got it!" she shouted pushing all of the buttons
Suddenly, before she could even tell if she typed them correctly the elevator started to move at lightning speed. Everyone grabbed onto the sides of the elevator and onto each other's clothing. They were going upwards for about forty-five seconds before coming to a very fast and sudden stop. The elevator open exposing beautiful gold and white color everywhere.
They had made it to Mount Olympus.
"We need to be quiet and make sure that Athena doesn't know that we are here" Noah whispered as they started to walk closer to the giant building that resembled the Parthenon
"We need to find Zeus and Poseidon and make sure that they know the war is not going to happen. If we don't they might start the war themselves"
They all slowly walked over to the building and quietly went inside. They were all the size of dwarves compared to the architecture of the building and all the surrounding landmarks on the outside.
