Normal wishing wells are where you throw a coin into them and make a wish.
Well, not the one in Springsfield.
The well that stands stands in the middle of the town is not your ordinary wishing well, it was deadly. Whatever you wish for lasts for the amount of days the coin was worth. Then, the wish reversed after the last day of your paradise.
Mary Anne, a lady who was once part of the community, tossed quarter into the well and wished for a new car after hers had broke down. Three days later, Mary had won the cherry red Honda she always wanted. She traveled in her shiny new car for 25 days straight, but then something unfortunate happened. Her car needed some cleaning after this incident, but sadly she wasn't alive to clean it.
Mary Anne died tragically after the car reversed on its own while she was walking behind it, her blood splattering all over the back of the car as it crushed her severely.
This left the town in shock, but it was soon forgotten about after a week.
The week after the incident, Andrew Bachelor and his best friend, Amanda, planned to throw a party at his house. Their whole school was invited. Well, except for one person, Veronica Dunne. Veronica was Andrew's ex-best friend who had framed him for a school incident that happened a few months ago. Andrew was kicked off of the football team and had detention for the rest of the school year because of her, he didn't want to see her ever again.
The day of the party finally came and Andrew was walking home after he was finally released from detention. Andrew had just passed the well, but stopped in his tracks and slowly turned around to look at it.
"Might as well," he mumbled to himself, reaching into his pocket for some coins while walking back to the well.
He pulls out a quarter, five pennies, a dime, and a nickel. Andrew thought for a moment, then shoved the other coins back into his pocket and kept the pennies in his palm. He stands in front of well, wondering what he should wish for. He didn't have much time to think, as the party was in an hour and he still had to get ready.
As he's lost in thoughts of confusion, someone creeps behind him and clears their throat.
"Well hello there, Andrew," he heard a familiar voice speak behind him. He turned around to see Veronica.
Anger burned in his guts as he met eyes with his worst enemy.
"What do you want?" Andrew says coldly.
"Just thought I should tell you that I hope your party goes to shit," Veronica responds with a smirk. Andrew rolls his eyes as he had already expected Veronica to say something dumb and petty.
"Whatever, Veronica, bye," Andrew quickly says, turning his back to Veronica. He heard Veronica giggle in the most annoying tone ever then strut away.
"I really wish you would just fall from a high place and hurt your neck," Andrew mumbled. Just then, a penny slipped through Andrew's finger tips and into the well. He didn't notice this, though.
As Veronica walks away, something dawned upon Andrew.
He then turns around again, calling for Veronica.
"Hey, how about you come to the party," Andrew insists. Veronica turns around and stares at him in confusion, wondering why he wants her to come to the party all of a sudden.
"Uh, sure, I guess." Veronica shrugs, then turns back around and continues walking away from Andrew. A evil smirk showed on Andrew's face. He no longer wanted to make a wish, shoving the pennies back into his pocket with the rest of the coins and continuing his journey back home.
