The music blasted and the colored lights shined bright in the club as Solána sat at the bar, sipping whisky out of a small glass.
She wasn't much of a party girl. She was only at the club to get away from her life problems, but she knew drinking her life away wouldn't do anything.
She looked around at all the people on the dance floor, watching some girl grind on other guys while some just danced alone.
She carefully looked through the crowd until someone caught her eye. He was tall and well-built. He had caramel-colored eyes that glistened in the lights and smooth chocolate skin. He wore a fancy jacket with a muscle shirt underneath along with black jeans and loafers to match.
He was making himself to the bar where Solána was sitting, dodging drunken dancers in the crowd. He finally made it to the bar, sitting one seat away from her.
It was like she couldn't keep her eyes off of him. He felt her eyes on him and looked over his shoulder ever so slightly, but by the time he fully glanced at her she had looked away as if she never knew he was there.
He looks back down at the drink he had ordered, picking up the cup and carefully swirling it around, watching the liquid swish around swiftly in the glass.
Solána took quick glances out of the corner of her eye, admiring the man's looks.
Suddenly, he quickly looks over at Solána, catching her in one of her quick glances.
"Those pretty eyes sure at good for staring," he jokes, chuckling lightly.
Solána slowly looks at him, giggling nervously, "Sorry."
"Its fine mama, what's your name?" He asks politely.
"Solána." She replied, tucking some strands of her thick hair behind her ear, "And you?"
"Terrance, it's nice to meet you."
At that, they shake hands and begin to have a conversion. They talked the night away then danced together for half an hour to end the night.
"I had a lot of fun," Solána said cheerfully.
"Me too, we should do this again sometime," suggested Terrance. Solána nods.
At that, they give each other a friendly hug, then exit the club and go home.
Solána thought about Terrance the whole car ride home, but thought about him even more when she got home.
When she got home, she showered, cooked dinner for herself, cleaned up, then got in bed and decided to call Terrance before she went to bed.
She picked up her phone from the nightstand, tapping on Terrance's name and putting the phone up to her ear.
The phone ringed about five times, then finally a voice spoke, "Hello?"
"Terrance?" Solána spoke back.
"Yes. This is Solána, right?" He asked.
"Yeah," Solána said perkily.
They talked on the phone for hours until something caught Solána's attention.
She heard a female's voice in the background, talking distinctly and could barely be heard.
Terrance answered her a few times then remembered he was on the phone with Solána.
"Who's that?" Solána asks curiously.
"M-My um... girl." Terrance stutters. Solána sits there in shock. She removes the phone from her ear, staring at Terrance's caller ID in disappointment.
"Hello?" calls Terrance, who sounded very distant to Solána as the phone was no longer to her ear.
"I gotta go," she finally says.
"Wait! Can I come over this weekend?" Terrance asks desperately.
"I guess, now bye," Solana says before hanging up the phone.
She sat there thinking about Terrance sadly before finally dosing off, nearly crying herself to sleep.
The next day she pretended as if nothing had happened. As if she never went to the club and Terrance didn't exist.
She made breakfast, went to work, came home, cooked dinner, then went to sleep.
It was the same routine everyday until Friday, and Terrance had never called her until that night.
"Yes, Terrance?" Solána says, slightly irritated.
"I'm on my way over there," Terrance whispers.
"Why are you whispering?" Solána asks, purposely being loud.
"Shh, everyone is asleep," Terrance says.
"Okay, whatever. See you in a few," Solána says before hanging up the phone.
At that, Terrance had arrived a few minutes later and Solána brought him to her room, where they talked for a long while until they had nothing else to talk about.
They gazed into each other's eyes, both of their eyes filled with wonder. They leaned forward slowly, their lips quivering with excitement.
It was when their lips brushed against each other that Solána pulled back and shook her head.
"This isn't right, what if your girlfriend finds out?" Solána blurts nervously. Terrance sighs.
"Who cares?" Terrance says, quickly leaning back in and kissing Solána quickly. Solána pushes him back, shooting up from the bed.
"How you want me when you got a girl?"
Terrance had nothing to say. In fact, he just rose from the bed, said goodnight to Solána then left.
Later that night, Solána had slept off with millions of different thoughts in her head. She wondered if she was ever gonna see Terrance again.
She hated to sleep on this thought, but she couldn't stop herself from dosing off.
The next day, she had heard nothing from Terrance, and the same thing happened from the rest of the week up until Saturday.
Solána's phone rung loudly and the caller ID read Terrance.
She picked up the phone, speaking softly, "Hello?"
"I just wanted to let you know, no matter what happens to me, I'll always want you more than anyone else. Now, look at the news, bye..." Terrance says before hanging up.
Solána throws her phone on the couch and turns on the t.v., flipping the channels until she got to the news channel.
The reporter was in front of a house and in the background where many ambulance trucks.
"Breaking news: 35-year-old Terrace Hart has murdered his girlfriend in their own home after coming home from the club Sunday night. Police say he stabbed her multiple times with a knife then cut her open and ripped her insides out." The reporter announced.
The remote slipped from Solána's hand as she stood there in fear and shock.
"I just keep him satisfied through the weekend..."
