Lighting struck in the dark sky and rain flooded the pavements and streets.

Bella sat on the barstool in front of the counter while Kehlani sat upon the counter, swinging her feet back and forth.

They were babysitting a six-year-old girl named Alexandra and let's just say, it wasn't their best babysitting session so far.

Alexandra was a very defiant child with a bad attitude, one task given to her made her throw the loudest of tantrums. It was only an hour into babysitting and both of them already had the worse headache.

It was now ten o'clock and the storm outside had got worse. Branches tapped against some of the windows and the wind whistled loudly as the storm worsened.

Kehlani and Bella were talking quietly when they heard Alexandra skipping down the stairs, humming lightly. Both groaned quietly and sighed, wondering what Alexandra wanted now.

As Alexandra enters the kitchen, Bella and Kehlani slowly turn their heads to look at her.

"What is it now, Alexandra?" Kehlani asks.

"I can't sleep," Alexandra whines, her high pitched voice making Bella cringe.

"You were only gone for ten minutes, it takes longer than that for bad little kids like you to even dose off," Kehlani butts in, smirking after her statement. Alexandra glares at Kehlani, folding her tiny arms.

"Just go to your room and try to go to sleep," Bella suggests.

"I already tried-"

"Try harder," Kehlani snaps. Angered, Alexandra exhales loudly and turns her back to the two, stomping out of the kitchen.

She storms up the stairs and into her room, slamming the door behind her and plopping down on her bed. She buried her face in her pillow, groaning in annoyance.

After minutes of straight groaning, Alexandra finally decides to close her eyes and try to sleep.

Meanwhile, Kehlani and Bella continue their conversation downstairs.

"You didn't have to snap at her like that," Bella complains.

Kehlani rolls her eyes, fiddling with her sharp nails, "She needs to learn being an obnoxious brat isn't gonna get her what she wants all the time."

"Lani," Bella groans.

"What?! I'm just saying," Kehlani responds, putting her hands up in defense. Bella rolls her eyes.

"She's only a kid," Bella says.

"I hate kids and you know that," Kehlani answers, her anger lingering in her gentle voice.

"Then why did you take this job?" Bella asks in confusion, raising her eyebrow.

"You know I'm lazy and this is the only job that paid a lot without me doing much," Kehlani complains.

Bella rolls her eyes once again, "Whatever."

Bella always knew Kehlani hated kids, but she's been acting unusual lately.

They sometimes did babysitting shifts separate and when Kehlani would come home, her hands would be stained with red and her clothes would be ripped all over.

She'd say her shirt was trashed because the kids were rough, and her hands were stained from making slime or hand painting with them.

Bella believed her at first, but then Kehlani started coming home later and later, and kids in the neighborhood were mysteriously going missing.
