After Tom's long day, he became more tired than he was earlier. It was getting close to dawn, and Christina figured if they got their sleep now, an could give him a tour of the city when it got lighter outside. She told him there was something about the sky when it was daytime. It was a beautiful merigold color with the drizzle of rose along with fluffy white clouds that flowed in the hot air all day.
Tom knew he wasn't supposed to be excited about practically being in hell but he enjoyed the scenery, not the place. He prayed and hoped Zendaya was coming up with some kind of plan to get him out of this situation, especially with the virus going around. He knew they had came to this city to get away from it, but he had a bad feeling it would find it's way here.
Christina had rented an apartment for them to stay in, a really nice one. It was a thirty-seven story building and their room was all the way at the top. Tom had a slight fear of heights, but since the view at the top was so beautiful, he didn't mind.
They got to their room and got comfortable. Christina organized all of her stuff and made sure every little thing was in the right place.
Tom plopped down on the comfortable and fluffy bed, snuggling under the blanket and squeezing the pillow against his chest as he rested his head on it.
"This is really comfortable, you should come lie down," Tom sighed, shutting his eyes and letting his body relax slowly.
"I would, but I got enough sleep on the carriage. Plus, I'm a but worried about Pharaoh, and some of my friends back at the cave. What do you thinks happening there?" Christina whined, looking over at Tom who was nearly asleep.
"Well," Tom began, opening his eyes a little, "I'm sure Pharaoh is fine, you said he knows where to hide, right? And if your friends are as smart as him, they'll know where to hide too."
After Tom finished his sentence, he closed his eyes once again, letting his mind and body drift into a peaceful, quiet sleep.
"But what if something happened to him on the way back?! Tom I'm-" In the middle of her rant, she turned around to see Tom was sound asleep in two seconds, not even bothering to listen to one last thing she had to say... or a few things.
Christina sighed, looking at the bracket she had crafted a while ago to match Pharaohs saddle. She didn't want to sleep, but she didn't want to be awake worrying about Pharaoh to death either.
Finally, Christina grew tired and slowly laid down, drifting off to sleep. They both slept for hours as the light of day came over the city. The sun rose over the tallest skyscraper, shining right over the tops of shorter buildings. The clouds appeared as orange as the sun hit them, and the sky turned a light peach color.
The light slowly shined into their apartment, hitting Tom's bed side and slowly rising up to the blanket. Eventually, it hit his face, right in the eyes. He felt the warm feeling of the sun on the blanket and his face, his eyes fluttering open only to be blinded by the sun.
He sat up in the bed, rubbing his burned eyes. He looked over at Christina, seeing she had finally fell asleep after all the whining. Tom was still extremely tired, too tired to get out of bed, but he really wanted to see how the city looked at sunrise.
Though he pictured himself getting up and going to the window, he didn't, and remained in bed. He sighed and laid his head back on the pillow, turning from the sun and closing his eyes once again.
In what seemed like only a few seconds, Tom was fast asleep again, snoring lightly and curled up like a baby.
An hour had passed, and Christina finally woke up. She looked over at Tom who had fell back asleep, smiling at how cute he looked while sleeping, then slowly got out of bed and walked over to the closet.
She pulled out some clothes to wear for the day, a tight black shirt, leggings, and sneakers. She quickly slipped into her outfit, making sure to stay quiet as she didn't want to wake Tom. Christina thought to bring a jacket, but being that it was already pretty warm and it was only morning, she decided not to.
She slipped out the door quietly, letting Tom continue his slumber. Christina headed towards the elevator, pressing the button to go to the very bottom floor and entering. She hoped that Tom would be fine up there alone, but after hearing how he got down here in the first place, he most likely couldn't be trusted alone. She still put a little trust in him, as he showed her no reason not to trust him.
She skipped out of the elevator, making her way out to the streets of Boo York. She had to go run some errands. Buy food, clothes, and a few other things. She doesn't run errands a lot, at least not since she's been down here. Before she died, she didn't all the shopping and errands a person can imagine. It just seems as if running errands in "hell" isn't fun for her.
Tom again woke up from his deep sleep, immediately searching for Christina. The sun had no longer been positioned near his face, so he could look around without being blinded. He sprung out of bed, searching for Christina, then having a mini panic attack when he realized she wasn't in the apartment.
He couldn't even call to see where she was due to his phone being dead and not even having her number. He figured he could go out and look for her, but he didn't even know his way around the city. He decided to sit down and calm himself a little, thinking of a somewhat solution to get through the day without Christina being around.
He didn't have any other clothes to wear as well as anything to clean himself up. He tried looking through Christina's things, but all she had was dresses, leggings, skirts, and heels. He began to wonder how she even brought all that down here with her when she died.
Tom's finally decision was to just take a nice long walk around the city to give himself the tour that apparently Christina didn't have the time to give him.
He rose from the bed, pacing out the apartment door and to the elevator.
Once out of the apartment, he admired the warm air of the city, looking around to see where he should go first.
He starting pacing down the pavement quickly, eager to find something interesting.
Everything seemed quiet and peaceful, and not very many people were out this morning.
Tom enjoyed the warm embrace of the sun, a light smile appearing upon his face. Everything was going just fine until he was forcefully approached by a woman. She took quick and short breaths, and her eyes were full of fear.
She had long brown hair and green eyes with strong cheekbones. She was wearing clothes with poorly shown rainbow colors along with black flats.
She held on tightly to Tom's shoulders, crying out, "You have to escape!"
"What do you mean?" Tom replied confusingly, taken completely by surprise.
"She's dangerous, you have to get away from her before she kills you, or worse!" The lady continued to cry, "Don't you remember me?!"
"I wish I knew you, I really do, but I don't. I'm sorry."
Before Tom could say anything else, the lady scurried off, leaving Tom in confusion and fear. No longer wanting to continue his stroll around the city, he darted back to the apartment. Quickly making his way back up to the room, he locked the door behind him and plopped down on his bed. Her words kept shooting through his mind as he tried to understand what she meant by "you have to escape".
Was she talking about the underworld? Or something worse...
