Hiding From the Dead: Chapter XVIII

We all sat on the brown leather sofa to check out the photo album. I opened the album while both boys peeked. Liam on my right and Ricky on my left.

I almost died of cuteness at the first picture I saw. A cute little boy with brown hair brushed to side and big blue eyes. His mouth was covered in food and he had the cheeks you just want to pinch and never let go. I guessed that was Liam.

"Omg, I want to die of cuteness! Is this you?!" I squealed at Liam

"Omg, I want to die of cuteness! Is this you?!" I squealed at Liam. That was the first time I'd ever acted like a girly girl in front of him, but I couldn't help it. I LOVED THOSE BIG BLUE EYES! He yanked the photo album from my hands.

"Yes... that's me." He said turning the page. "But I don't like that picture." I was about to slap his face for saying he didn't like it. He kept passing the pages and I would see either pictures of him, or a little girl also with big blue eyes, who I guessed was Andrea. Wow, why does his uncle have lots of pictures of him?

Ricky had already gotten bored from looking at baby pictures, so he just looked up front. He also seemed really sleepy, which I understood because he hadn't slept at all.

Liam took one of the pictures out of the album and smiled. It was of him with a man in his 50ties, who I guessed was his uncle.

"Here's the first one. Look for the date. It's odd." I took the picture in my hand and looked at Liam, confused.

"The date?" I asked him. He nodded, still looking at the album, looking for the other two pictures. I looked at the picture and on the right bottom corner, I looked at the date. 09/1973. At first, I was confused. What was odd about the date. But then it just came to mind.

"This said this picture was taken on 1973, but you were born on 1999." I looked at Liam and he smiled, as I had just found 1/3 of the passcode. I smiled. "1973" Ricky chuckled.

"Wow. Genius." Ricky said and Liam found the second picture. There was a cute husky dog, who was really close to the camera. Liam's uncle was behind him, smiling.

"Duke." Liam said with a smile on his face. "My mom would let me bring Duke every time we visited my uncle." He looked at me and handed me the picture. "Look at Duke's tag." I looked at his collar and there was a green tag with his name on it, but... it said 3Duke15. I looked at Liam.

"Three, Duke, fifteen?" Liam thought about it for a second.

"315, that's the number." He looked for the last picture, while I smiled at how inventive his uncle was.

"Okay, so 1973 and 315." Ricky said, trying to remember the numbers. Finally, he found the last picture, which he looked at longer. Two blue-eyed toddlers, the girl older than the boy, playing in the sand on the beach.

"I remember this picture. She and I were always together before she died. I was 9, she was 12. On the top corner of the picture, one of the clouds looked like a number. It was only visible if you payed really close attention.
