"Move over or I'm shoving you out of the bed, Beverly." Holly said. She heard her best friend sigh and shift over.

"What time is it?" Beverly mumbled. Holly glanced at the clock on her bedside table. "Ten." Beverly sighed once more. "I've got to go home and check on my dad. I'll be back around five for dinner, though." she said, standing up. "I'll see you later." Holly replied, getting  up and giving Bev a hug. The ginger changed into her clothes from yesterday and walked out.

"'Bye, Bev. Love you!" Holly yelled from her window. "Love you more!" her best friend yelled back from the street. "Impossible!" Holly said, leaning on her crutches. "Yeah, okay." said Bev's now faint voice. Holly smiled and hobbled over to her bed.

She heard Cass and Mandy get up. A faint knock on her door told her that someone was there. "Come in." Cassie walked in as Mandy ran to the bed. "Where's Bev?" asked the older ginger. "She had to go home. She'll be back for dinner." Holly replied. Cassandra nodded and sat on the bed.

"What should I make for dinner? What do your friends like?" she asked. Holly thought for a minute. "Oh! Make that chicken, mashed potatoes, and some vegetable. And can you get that really good Italian bread from the bakery?" Holly said. Cass laughed and nodded. "I'll go to the store to get that. Mind watching Mandy?" Cassie said, getting up. Holly replied with a 'sure'.

Cassandra said her goodbyes and left after changing. "What do you wanna do, Mandy?" asked Holly.

"Dolls?" Mandy asked. Holly nodded. Her niece ran over to the closet and pulled out the box at the bottom. The two girls played and did what Mandy wished for two hours, until twelve. Eventually, Mandy fell asleep in her god-mother's bed. Holly sat in her desk chair, reading a book when her phone rang. She rolled over and grabbed the phone. "Hello?" she asked.

"H-Hey, m-m-mind if I-I c-c-come over?" said Bill's voice on the end. "Yeah, sure. We just have to be quiet. Mandy's sleeping." Holly replied. "Alright. I-I'll b-b-be there i-in a b-bit." Bill said. "See you then." Holly said, putting down the phone.

She hobbled down the stairs with her crutches and sat on the couch. Ten minutes later, she heard someone knock on the door. "It's open!" she yelled. Bill walked in.

"H-Hey, H-Holly." he said, plopping on the couch. "Hey, Big Bill. What's up?" He shrugged. "E-Eddie's with his m-m-mom, R-Richie's a-at his aunt-s, S-S-Stan's a-at the t-t-temple, and t-the others d-didn't a-answer their ph-phones." Bill replied, grabbing the remote from next to Holly. "

So basically what you're telling me is that I'm your last resort?" she questioned with a smirk. "Yeah, p-p-pretty m-much." he answered nonchalantly, flipping through channels. "Wow, Bill. Way to make a girl feel special." Holly replied sarcastically. Bill laughed.
