"Hey, beautiful." Richie said, standing on the front porch. Holly blushed. "Hey, Richie." she said to the boy, closing the door behind her. "What about your crutches?" he asked. Holly shrugged, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "I don't want them." She hopped down the steps, Richie following behind her. The pair walked down the street, holding hands. Holly babbled on about her day, her signature yellow backpack bouncing on her back as Richie listened to the girl beside him.

"You look pretty today." he said as they entered downtown. Holly looked at him, opening her mouth when Richie cut her off. "Not that you don't look nice everyday! It's just- today- I don't know." Richie stumbled out. Holly laughed, fixing her silver necklace Cass give her a few years prior. "Thank you, Richie." she said, squeezing his hand. The couple walked farther into town, seeing a few people sitting in front of stores and on benches with ice pops and milkshakes in their hands.

"Wanna go into Freese's?" Holly asked, jerking her thumb towards the store. "Yeah, might as well get some more shirts." Richie replied, stepping forward and opening the door. Holly smiled and stepped in. "Woah, this place is empty!" Richie said. "Rich, it's ten in the morning. What did you expect?" Holly said, giggling. Richie grabbed Holly's hand, pulling her towards the boys' section. Holly rolled her eyes and laughed as Richie held up yet another Hawaiian button-up. "Do you really need anymore, Rich?" she asked. "They're classy, babe." Richie replied, winking. Holly laughed once more.

The young couple ran around the store, picking out many clothes and items. Holly picked up yet another pair of overalls, ("You're wearing that pair right now!" he had said. "These ones are acid-washed, Rich. Acid-washed!") a few tee-shirts, and a pair of sunglasses. Richie bought a blue Freese's shirt and more Hawaiian button-ups, much to Holly's protests. Holly dragged Richie to the hardware store, insisting that she needed new paint.

"You sure that the hardware store sells paint?" he asked as she walked through the door, the bell ringing above their heads. "Richie. I've been coming her for years, I'm pretty sure they sell paints." Holly replied, walking towards the back. She waved at the cashier, who smiled at her. "See? Acrylic paint. Five for five bucks." Holly said, pointing towards a sign above. Richie stuck his tongue out at his girlfriend.

After leaving the store, Holly suggested ice cream at the small stand next to the park. "I'll pay." she said, grabbing her boyfriend's hand and walking towards the park. "Where are you even getting all this money from?" Richie asked, smiling. Holly laughed. "Birthdays, mowing lawns, and babysitting. Lots of babysitting." Her hand, full of shopping bags, was swinging back and forth at her sides and her new sunglasses were perched on the bridge of her nose.

"Two chocolate cones, please." Holly said, taking a five out of her wallet. "Keep the change." she added, smiling as the man handed her the two cones. The red-haired girl handed a cone to Richie as they went to sit on a bench. The boy with messy black hair licked the cone which was already dripping. "Thank you!" he sang-song, kissing Holly's cheek. "Ew, Richie! You've got ice cream on your lips!" she squealed, then giggled. The pair sat down.
