"Richie!" screamed Holly.
"Holly!" Richie mimicked, snickering.
The boy splashed his girlfriend once more, feeling the icy chill of the water hit hands. Holly screamed once more as she feel a blast of cold water hit her skin, then smirked as she splashed back even harder. Richie fell under the water as Holly laughed. He resurfaced a second later, smiling as he dragged Holly under with him by her waist.
"C'mon, let's go." she said, laughing as she came up for air. Richie smiled, pecking her on the lips and then grabbed her hand. The pair walked up the dirt path, their feet caked with mud, back to where their items were. Richie explained what went down at Stan's bar-mitzvah, which Holly was upset she missed.
"And then Stan was like 'It's about not giving a shit!' and walked off! It was so fuckin' bad-ass. I stood up and clapped for him, but then his aunt who was next to pushed me down. You should've seen it, Holly!" Richie yelled, making gestures with his hands. "Wish I could've been there." mumbled Holly, upset as she towel-dried her hair.
"Don't worry, babe. Stan'll come around." replied Richie sympathetically. Holly's head snapped towards her boyfriend. "You should take your own advice, y'know." she said. Richie grimaced. "That's another story." he said quietly. Holly sighed, giving up.
"Wanna go to Benny's? It's on me." asked Holly, flashing a ten from her yellow bag. "You know it." Richie answered, smiling. The girl threw on a white sundress over her green bathing-suit as Richie pulled on his shorts and button- up, leaving it open with a white tee underneath. The pair washed off their feet and petaled into town.
"Have I ever told you how hot you look?" asked Richie, smirking. Holly laughed, eyes twinkling. "Every day, Tozier." she answered. "It's true. Like, I wanna ban-" started Richie. "If you say what I think you're going to the you ca stop right there." Holly said sternly. Richie just chuckled and threw his bike on the ground, Holly following in suit.
The pair ran towards their favorite booth in the back on the left side, where they always sat. They both ordered burgers and fries, Holly getting a cherry cola while Richie sipped a Sprite. His stupid jokes and overuse of curse words made Holly laugh, which was music to Richie's ears. His stomach fluttered with every word that fell from her lips, and when he smiled Holly's stomach churned.
Holly loved Richie, and Richie loved Holly.
But both were too scared to admit it, nervous that they were too young or the other wouldn't feel the same way. So they kept quiet, their feelings locked away. They finished soon after, Holly placing her money on the counter as the pair walked out. Richie was headed to the arcade, while Holly was heading home to play with Mandy like she promised.
