I hope you know,
You don't have to be on the cover-girl
You're already mine.
No matter what I do
It seems you'll never see you
The way that I want you too.
You're the one I've been dreaming of
All this time.
What's it gonna take to show you
I'll give my life up just to hold you
When the stars burn up the sky's
They got nothing on your eyes.
Vans poked her head into the living room, "who was just singing?"
Gabriel turned around, "I was. Is it a problem? I just haven't gotten the chance to help Noctis practice." He said quietly.
"Dude, your voice is epic. It defiantly is not a problem." Vanz said.
Noctis sat looking between the two. Finally he couldn't hold back anymore, "Notice me senpai..." he whispered.
"No. No. No!" Vanz said.
"What? He was thinking it, I just decided to speak his mind."
"No! I wasn't!" Gabriel shot.
Noctis was the only one who knew that Gabriel liked Vanz. That was because he was oldest and could basically read Gabriel's mind.
"Oh please, I can't believe that she hasn't noticed yet, you aren't exactly discreet about it."
"Dude!" Gabriel said irritably.
"What? I'm just tired of you talking about it." Noctis said.
Vanz raised an eyebrow, "Noctis, have you been drinking?"
"Maybe a bit." Gabriel said.
"I have only had one drink."
"Just enough to get him happy." Gabriel mumbled.
Leah walked through the door and set down her keys, "So, what are y'all doing?"
"Well," Vanz said, "Gabriel can sing like Ed Sheeran, Noctis has been drinking, and I am confused."
"Sounds... fascinating."
"Yeah, I don't know how much he's actually drank, but at least he's in a good mood." Vanz responded.
Leah looked at Noctis intensely. He shrank into himself slightly and looked down, "Noctis, how many have you had?"
"One." He said.
"I swear to god Noctis, if my Jack Daniel's is gone, I'm going to beat your ass." Leah said, storming into the kitchen.
She came back a few moments later carrying an empty Jack Daniel's bottle, "What the hell, I told you not to touch it!"
"I didn't drink it I swear, I had a Budlight!" He said, crossing his arms in front of his face.
Vanz looked as Leah put the bottle on the coffee table and put her hands on her hips triumphantly, "I know. But that's how I test how drunk you are."
"I'm not drunk. I'm just in a good mood. Damn, now I want a cigarette."
"Wow Leah," Vanz said, "your boyfriend has some secrets."
Leah tossed a pack of cigarettes at Noctis, "here, have a pack."
"I don't need them. I'm trying to quit." He said.
"Me too. So we can both have one today then skip tomorrow."
They both took one out of the pack and stepped outside. Noctis lit his and took a long drag, pulling Leah close before she had a chance to light hers, and blew smoke into her mouth. The sweet taste of tobacco and nicotine curled over her tongue and filled her lungs. He moved back long enough for her to exhale before kissing her again.
"It tastes even better from your mouth." She said after lighting her own.
"You've never shotgunned before?" he asked.
"Nah, never had the chance." She took a long drag of her cigarette and held it for a moment.
"Leah, we need to do this more often."
"Damn, mines almost done." She said, flicking away extra ash.
(She gets them cheap ass cigs)
"One last drag on mine." He said.
"Mind sharing?" Leah asked.
He lifted her face to his and blew the sweet smoke into her lungs again. She didn't want to let it out. She released the breath as Vanz stepped outside, "You guys having fun? Wait, are you even smoking?"
Leah backed away from Noctis a few inches and showed Vanz the extinguished butt of the cigarette that had been smoked to the filter.
"Then why the hell are you standing out here kissing?"
"You ever heard of shotgunning?" Leah asked.
"No, why, what is it?"
Noctis sighed as he flicked out the butt of the cig, "One person takes a drag and blows it into someone else's mouth. Shotgunning." He said.
"Oh." Vanz said.
"Hey, Vanz, in your defense, you don't smoke so you have a good reason to not know what it is."
"Why would you even do it? It sounds gross."
"It feels and tastes amazing." Leah said.
Noctis shoved his hands in his pockets and bit the inside of his lip, he never got any time alone with Leah and it started to bother him. Despite having a drink and a cigarette it was getting harder to hold his tongue. He looked between the two as they spoke like he wasn't even there anymore.
"I'm going upstairs. See you guys in a bit." He said.
"I'm going inside. It's sort of cold out here." Vanz said.
Leah nodded and followed both of them. She wanted desperately to have her lungs filled with the smoke Noctis blew into her mouth. It had a unique flavor that she craved.
Fuck, I don't think I'm quitting any time soon. She thought.
