Shadowhorn leapt after Keo.
"KEO!" He yelled. The wind whisked away his words. Shadowhorn fought against the wind. Oh no! Where did the wind scatter him? Shadowhorn thought. He dove through the blizzard. His wings shook. He squinted. Come on come on! He thought. Keo isn't strong enough against this wind! He felt a tug on his tail. Shadowhorn whipped around, he saw Sapphire reach out for him.
"Come over here you sea snail!" Shadowhorn heard her barely say, "Don't be a hero! Blackstar could help us find him or someone else once they come here he'll be okay!" Shadowhorn rolled his eyes. Ever since he met them despite him heroically trying to save Blackstar from falling with Sapphire and Tidalwave, they didn't really think that he could do much. He flew around in the storm. Even with
Him being way bigger then Keo he still had trouble flying around in the blizzard. He squinted through the storm, no way he would find Keo.
He would be lucky enough to just find the cave. His wings beat slowly, he imagined Keo, a tiny rainwing getting whisked away by just one wind. He searched harder, but it was no use. Shadowhorn already knew that Keo would be whisked towards the Ice Kingdom, it would be a miracle if he made it past the ice wall. Keo would be sent to Darkstalker before the others could even see the Ice Kingdom from far away. Keo against a black dangerous mountain. What would he do? What would Darkstalker do to Keo if he found out that he was part of their group? The idea made Shadowhorn shiver. After searching Shadowhorn made the decision that he should go back to the cave, he beat his wings against the wind and finally found the dimly lit cave. Shadowhorn saw all of them face him.
"Where is Keo?" Sapphire managed to say. Shadowhorn shook his head, all of them sadly look away from him, he sat next to Tidalwave.
"He.. He is going towards Darkstalker, he will most likely be a prisoner." Shadowhorn said. "If he makes it."
"If he makes it?" Tidalwave gulped.
"I'll um... look into the future" Shadowhorn tried to look in the future but nothing came to him. That happened sometimes when he was under pressure. Shadowhorn looked at all the dragon faces looking at him, for hope. What do I do... What do I do? Shadowhorn thought. He decided to just fake it.
"Um... He might make it if we hurry, I mean it is one path in the future." Shadowhorn said, lying. Seeing their faces light up happily made Shadowhorn feel a stab of guilt. Tidalwave jumped up,
"Let's get going now!" Tidalwave said, bouncing up and down.
"Yeah! The blizzard is slowing down! Let's go!" Sapphire said. It was amazing how similar they were. Shadowhorn only nodded, consumed by what ifs or what wills. Shadowhorn saw them leap, out of the cave. Shadowhorn looked back at their camp fire and looked at the dying flames. Shadowhorn finally turned around and flew after the two twins. Sapphire was right, the winds were slowing down and he could see in front of them as well!
The more they flew the less crazy things seemed to be. Shadowhorn soon could see in front of them, the Icewing Kingdom. He saw the twins gasp, the sight was very beautiful. He soared and led them away from the enchanted wall. He looked at the twins and pointed to a small section in the wall small enough for them to squeeze in one at a time, they landed in a patch of snow. Since Eclipse enchanted them to always be safe and perfectly in temperature none of the Seawings even shivered for a moment. Shadowhorn looked up for any Icewings and signaled them to go, one by one. Unlike the other tribes, if the Icewings caught them even near their wall, they would kill them, no doubt about it. But it was okay because Shadowhorn knew all of the secret passages because he himself avoided the Icewings, they always teased him. Shadowhorn lead the twins towards the palace.
Shadowhorn's heart was pounding, he and only he was being trusted to lead two dragons! It was exciting! His talons clicked on the ice in front of the palace. The icewings respected the palace and they even swept first few feet beyond the palace. Shadowhorn took a deep breath. He never went into the palace before. He only knew the secret passageways in the walls that somebody must of made. Nobody knew about them. But to get to that they had to fly very fast to a section of the wall that was open and slip in. Shadowhorn urged Sapphire and Tidalwave to go. He saw them fly towards the wall and slip in. He saw them waiting. He took a step and flew as fast as he could. A voice made him stop.
"Shadowhorn?" Seal said. She flew to him, blocking his path unintentionally. Even Seal didn't know about the passage. Shadowhorn peared over her shoulder and saw Tidalwave and Sapphire look at him in worry. He nodded and did a motion for them to go. He saw them hesitate then go. Shadowhorn turned his attention back to Seal. She looked worried.
"What is it?" He asked, trying not to rush past her. Seal looked at him with fear in her eyes. "Its... Darkstalker... A dragon..." Seal said faintly. Shadowhorn looked at her in concern.
"What did the dragon look like?" He asked, now holding her claws.
"He was a big mountainous dragon... He wrecked a group of dragons, one was black and full grown another was purple and smaller two other dragons, red and blue... they a small black one too... He totally wrecked them." She said, shaking.
"Where did he go?" Shadowhorn asked. Seal pointed to the palace. Shadowhorn was ready to take off.
"Wait!" Seal shouted at him, knowing what he was thinking. Shadowhorn faced her. "He... Took a dragonet... But not a Icewing dragonet.... A rainwing..." She said, She held his talon. "Don't do it." She pleaded. "Don't worry." He said. "Iĺl be your hero." He let go of her talons and flew to the passageway and slipped through.
