Alone No More
Loren sat waiting,
her brother had wired
He'd be here soon
So she retired.
Went to her room in the hotel
And was greeted with a wonderful smell
A basket of muffins, noodles and treats
All from AJ so she'd have something to eat.
She had to admit the gesture was sweet.
Miss Myna dropped by
She wanted to try
To convince her to stay
And try again with AJ
Everything seemed so foreign
Why can't she remember?
It bothered Loren
She thought of AJ and that kiss
But certainly if she were in love
She'd remember this
She came directly to BG
Because she had wanted to see
3Gun so desperately.
He was the reason why
She was willing to give love a try.
The reason she learned to sing,
Cook...everything.
But Myna told her that she tried.
3Gun turned her away
So that dream died.
She felt more alone than ever.
She must not have been very clever.
To have 3Gun turn her away.
But she guessed that's when she met AJ.
Myna left
Her to rest
Loren grabbed herself a brownie
How can she not remember
Being a BG townie?
She took a bite
And then caught sight
Of the book the held the songs
She would write.
She flipped through the book
And took a look
The last pages spilled
With love song were filled
She wished she could remember the tune
She wondered why the songs
went from happiness to heartbreak.
Had AJ abandoned her so soon?
Did they have some sort of fight?
Did things not work out right?
Her head hurt from trying to remember
It made for a very long night.
The next day the sun had shown
Loren laid in bed feeling even more alone
She started at the ceiling listening
To someone whistling.
She knew that tune
She threw open the door
She was not alone anymore
"How did you get here so soon?!"
The Marshall gathered her in his arms
"I promised to keep you safe from harm,
"Oh, Loren can you ever forgive me?"
"There is nothing to forgive as far as I can see.
I'm older now. No longer your responsibility."
"That's not true.
I will always protect you."
He kissed the top of her head.
Thanking God she wasn't dead.
"I'll wait downstairs why not get dressed
And I take you out to eat breakfast."
'Are you going to ask Miss Myna too?"
"I would like too. IF that is okay with you?"
"I like her very much.
You should get her some flowers
it would make a nice touch."
"Thank you, sis. That's what I'll do
And be right back to collect you."
"Okay, I'll see you soon."
Loren's heart felt light
With any luck
they'll be on their way home tonight.
