I wanted to stop for the night

Soon Oh Aces would be in sight

Lou looked so tired and worn

But I blamed it on my horse Storm.

She complete saw through my ruse

"I'll push on if you want me to."

But she refused.

I helped her off her horse

Any reason to hold her, of course

She looked at me and tried to smile

I kissed her forehead, "Rest awhile."

It's been an emotional day.

I still wondered what Buck had to say.

When the Sheriff told him to fix things with Lou

Obviously, he didn't know what to do.

As she is now here with me

I don't know how I got so lucky.

The horses were tied

The beans were fried.

I smiled at her while she slept

The smell of food had an effect

Soon she had awoke

And then she had spoke.

"Sorry about what happened today?

I don't know what else to say."

My lips gave a little quirk

I knew her weakness was a smirk

"On the off chance

I may sound like a jerk

Again, I would do any of this

It was totally worth

that shared kiss."

Lou gave a little laugh,

"No need to keep pretendin'

on my behalf."

"What makes you think it's all pretend?

Still think of me as just a friend?"
