Put the papers away
Locked them into the desk
That's where they'll stay
Till I figure what to do with them.
The newsprint was delayed
But it would have to wait
Soon it would be time
For my dinner date.
There was a knock
Followed by a gigglin' Gyn
"Special delivery from the sheriff
Look in the box, I am waitin' "
"Pink satin string
More than a dozen muffins
Strawberry jam frostin'
What's wrong with him?"
Gyn asked giggling
"So Miss are you going?"
"No Gyn I am not
But I'll keep 'em!" I replied frowin'."
Gyn left completely confused
"CM!" CG hollered, "The Sheriff's sent a gift for you
He's calling me by another's name
But sending you muffins, with jam too!"
