Well That Was Unexpected

It took some time but

Lou was happy to be back in BG

Even if it was outside in the Tent City

She tied the horse up outside her shack

She'd have to find out about her pack.

That one thought brought everything

Shamus and Buck, said and did back.

Exhausted from her long ride.

Alone with the feelings she could no longer hide

She sat down at her table and cried.

"Lou?"

"Who are you?"

Lou cocked her gun.

"I swear to you the mood I'm in

I'll kill you, just for fun."

Billy stepped out of the shadow.

"It's just me, Lou.

I didn't mean to startle you."

"Gosh Dammit, Billy!"

Lou threw her gun aside.

And angrily swiped at the tears she cried.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"I needed a place to hide."

"Hide? What's going on?"

"Tex Mex is going to burn the town

He believes I'm dead

so I can't be seen aroun'. "

"Dead?

What would put that idea

In his head?"

"Well most likely because he shot me

But I'm still alive as you can see.

So, we may need the upper hand

I told the Marshall where we stand.

Right now I believe

Him and the Deputy

Are developing a plan."

"I knew you weren't here

So, I thought it a good place to stay.

But now that your back,

I'll go away."

Alone was the last thing she wanted to be

"No, it's fine you can stay here with me."

"Are you sure, Lou?"

"Yeah, I need a drink. You?"

"Sounds good. You uh... seem upset."

"I'm not ready to talk about that yet."

"I can respect that."

Lou heard a mew.

"Is that a cat?"

Billy chuckled, "Just CG's kitty.

Thought it best it stay with me

while in Tent City."

"You seem rather attached.

You missing Rue?"

"That information is off limits, Lou."

Lou just shrugged

And pulled out some whiskey.

"Don't want to talk? That's fine with me?"

The two drank and talked

about nothing all night

And soon came the morning light.

The two made quite a sight.

When Kitty found them

In bed
