"You think he's chickenin' out?
maybe he's delayed".
I borrowed one of CM's muffins
feelin' extremely dismayed.
There came a startlin' wrap
made me drop the last bite.
"I'll shoot the varmint
at first sight!"
There he stood, hat in hand
danglin' the basket as bait.
I had to let him in
Even though he was late.
"Really! A composin' stick
what kind of gift is that?"
He looked upset to be dismissed
his plan had fallen flat.
Then my world spun around
the sheriff did not dilly dally.
One last act
before the finale.
Warm arms around my waist
Crisp white shirt with a shinin' star
Fragrant lilac with splashed vodka
Best most blueberry by far.
I stopped to breath
to ask a question unasked
I caught an innocent smile
our silence was intruded by a TNT blast.
