Attempted Escape
The cave was a hideout
a store for the moonshine
the camp was set up
the men went to dine.
I searched my pockets
for a would be clue
found the updated map
and quickly drew.
Bodyguard was back
avoided sleep's trance
but early morning brought
my one and only chance.
Slipped out the cave
and quietly snuck
made it to CM
couldn't believe my luck!
"We have to find him
follow the lilac"
but a hand grabbed me
from the back.
"Find him! Go!"
Stinky stuck my face
busted nose, bleeding lip
fell in that place.
Barely conscious
heard them yell
"Watch her proper
or there'll be hell!
Let the animal wander and die
you boys guard the shine
I'll take her to the farm"
He dragged me by the arm.
