I walked into the room where I had left Zero to be alone. But I quickly regretted it as I witnessed him carving into his neck with his nails.
"Zero..." I should stop crying. Why am I crying? "Zero stop! That has to hurt!" I ran to Zeros side, snatched his arm away and placed my hand over his wound.
"That woman." As Zero spoke I watched as his eyes were so lifeless yet so full of hate. "I can still feel her touch. Its disgusting."
"That woman isnt here anymore Zero. You're safe now." Zero placed his hand on the side of my head. I saw that he was thinking. But all I could do was focus on those lavender eyes. Filled with hate.
•Zeros POV•
I walked into Headmaster Cross' house and set down my bag. With a sigh I sat down and started doing my homework.
Something is wrong.
Something is missing.
Ah thats right. That girl isn't here. Shes not asking me questions about the previous lesson. Or just staring at me. But then, where is she?
Ack.. who cares.
I inevitably stood up and checked around the house. It was creepily quite. I knocked on her door.
No answer.
I started to walk away. But then I swung her door open to find her room untouched.
"Kriyu. What are you doing in Yukis room?" The headmasters cheery voice came from behind me startling me.
"I uh... shes not here."
"That seems to be the case. Can you do me a favor and find her. Its getting dark and I dont want her to be alone." The headmaster raised a finger to his face with a smile.
"Um.. ok..." I didnt know where to look though. Ive only known these people for a month.
"Thank you Kriyu! Ill go get dinner started!" The headmaster did a dance as he started to leave.
"Headmaster... where should I start to look?" I grabbed my coat.
"Well... the night class moved in today. She might be looking for Kaname Kuran." And he left with a smile.
"Kaname... Kuran.... somethings wrong with the headmaster... thinking vampires want to get along with humans. Humans are nothing but food to them. Despicable.. mons-" As I thought these things I suddenly realized I was at the bridge that connected to where the vampires live for now.
I looked and sure enough there was the little Cross girl sitting at the entrance steps. As I got closer I realized her face was full of confusion and fear. And once she noticed me, she had cocked her head up with tears in her eyes.
"Zero... oh... what are you doing here?" She quickly wiped her face and slapped on a smile. But why? She had no need to hide her feelings from me.
"I could ask you the same. Dont you know this is where the vampires layer is?"
"I know you have every reason to hate them Zero. But theyre not all bad you know." Yet again. That smile. And that naive innocence.
Cute.
Cute?!
Dont think like that.
I looked up to see two vampires watching us. One with blue eyes and blonde hair. One with Green eyes and orange hair.
I held out my hand to Yuki. "Vampires...Cmon. Lets go."She hesitantly took my hand and we started to walk. "Vampires do not hesitate to take lives. They are pitiful beings. Be careful Yuki."
"Im not scared of them! Kaname saved my life!"
What a silly girl.
"If youre not scared..." I turned to face her "...Then why are you shaking... silly." I saw her eyes widen as she squeezed my hand. Before I turned to walk back to the headmasters dorm. I saw a dark haired vampire watching from the window. Kaname Kuran. Vampire.
I turned and we walked back. But I couldn't help but focus on the fact she was holding my hand.
