Chapter 14

Rhythm of my heart

It was bright and early and I was completely exhausted. Mason was beside me sleeping. I gave him a kiss on his cheek. He laid on his back, head facing the ceiling. I watched him for a while.  He was more amazing than I thought. I don't know what was going to happen next. It was scary.  What would Damon do and say? I didn't regret being with Mason but I was scared that I hurt Damon badly once he finds out about us. I wasn't sure if Mason was my official boyfriend. I just know my heart was full of emotion. I felt like crying watching him sleep. I never wanted to be without him. I finally found the perfect man. I was sure I was in love. My eyes watered before I kissed Mason again on his cheek. I knew what I felt was real.

"I love you Bear." I whispered in his ear.

His eyes opened instantly. I smiled thinking he was pretending to sleep the whole time. I rested my arm on his chest. Mason looked at me and smiled.

"You love me Sweetie?" He asked sounding drained.

"I'm sure I do." I told him becoming emotional.

I rested my head on his chest and looked away. I held him tight and tried not to cry. He laughed a bit confused. He rubbed my back.

"What's wrong?" He asked me.

"Nothing." I lied holding him tighter.

He exhaled and slipped out from under me. 

"San?" He sat up.

I grabbed the pillow and hid my face.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Nothing, I just love you." I answered muffled under the pillow.

He laughed and slowly took the pillow away. He smiled at me caressing my face.

"You're worried aren't you?" He asked laying beside me, caressing my face.

"Yea." I said feeling tears drip down.

He kissed my cheek.  

"What do you want to do? I will do whatever you want. I won't say no."

"I want to stay near you." I told him.

"I still love you today. Tomorrow I'm sure I will love you more." He said touching my lips with his thumb.

"I don't know what - what are we going to do about Damon." I hesitantly mentioned.

He smiled. 

"You care now about that? It's too late for that San. Let me deal with him. I should have known better then to make deals that I can't keep."

He began to get ready to get up. I grabbed his arm.

"Wait. I'm needy right now." I laughed. "Seriously though. I am really worried about what is going to happen with us." I admitted.

Mason turned back to me. 

"I'm not going to hurt you. Don't worry about anything. I'm going to get our clothes and take you with me in the shower. Is that ok?"

I smiled at him. I sat up and covered my body with the blanket. He kissed my forehead and turned back around. I noticed his amazing tattoo. I touched his back staring at it. He turned at me and smiled.

"Nice." I complemented.

"Thanks." He said pulling up his boxers.

He walked on my side of the bed, grabbed my clothes, and folded everything except my shirt. He handed it to me already set for me to put my head through.
