Sunday Evening, Later On

Dear Diary,

I'm currently sitting in the plane while waiting for the air stewardess to serve us those delicious packed peanuts. I thought now would be the perfect time to update you on something that had happened in the waiting area just now since Elise and Max are busy arguing with an air steward about their seat arrangements. I haven't really gave you an introduction about Max or Elise before, so here it goes. Max and Elise are really close to me since preschool, and since their family decided to move to our neighborhood, we three have been inseparable ever since. Thus, making Max sort-of a half brother to me. Does that even make sense, diary?

Anyways, after my parents and that spawn of the devil disguised as my younger brother had finally left me, the excitement in three of us kind of died down a little since we were bored to death waiting for our departure time. As Elise was busy having a phone call with her parents, telling them how she and Max would be fine on the trip, Max suggested that it'd be fun to play a game of 'I Spy'. Gosh, he could be so childish sometimes. My parents might had calmed down a bit after I told them Max was joining us, thinking having a guy in this trip would benefit us girls, but it felt like Elise and I were doing the babysitting job instead of the other way around. Trust me, Max may be the same age as both Elise and I, but I sometimes think that he has a brain of a two year old.

"I spy, with my gorgeous eyes, something light blue." Max said, resting his head on my shoulders.
I rolled my eyes. "Max, it's clearly the luggage in front of us. And saying you have gorgeous eyes every time we play won't make it come true."
"The only reason why you wouldn't admit that I have gorgeous eyes is because you couldn't bare staring into them. They're too much for your self esteem. Your turn, shoot."
"I spy with my little eyes," I scanned the room and someone rather interesting caught my eyes. "That gorgeous guy who so happens to be staring at me this whole time."

Clearly our little 'I Spy' game couldn't continue because, quoting Max now, that's not how the game is played. The cute stranger continued to throw us a glimpse or two every now and then, and I immediately push Max away. But that was it, apart from a couple of shy smiles and friendly wink, he didn't come forward to introduce himself. Until...

Oh shoot, Elise and Max are coming back. I'll write again soon, diary.

Author's note :

Hi again, my little munchkins!

Hope you're finding this series interesting and are planning to stay for chapter three.

A little backstory on this series, I wrote it on my phone on the way to Kuala Lumpur. Since the traffic there kills, I might as well kill time by writing something. I always wanted to travel overseas with a friend and have one of those cliche romantic moment. But I can kiss that thought goodbye since I have those strict parents. So the only way I can live those romantic cliche moments is through my writings. Thus, the birth of my little novella.

Don't forget to vote and comment!
