Monday Morning

Day 1 in Melbourne, Australia

Dear diary,

WE'VE REACHED MELBOURNE! WE'RE LITERALLY ON THE LAND DOWN UNDER RIGHT NOW! Hello the land of the nope, according to buzzfeed of course.

I didn't mention it earlier, but my Aunt Colleen and Uncle Frank are to be our guardians in this trip. Aunt Colleen had been my favorite aunt since I was young. She's my mom's older sister, if you're wondering. When my mum told her my crazy request about going to Australia if I got straight A's in my SPM, she immediately suggested Melbourne and offered her place for me to stay. And since she has a soft heart, she agreed to take in Elise and Max too. So here we are in the car, heading towards their home. And boy, do we have a long journey ahead of us.

By the way, remember last night where I was planning to fake my way to the lavatory when in reality I was hoping to find Connor? Apparently that failed because after I've kept you safe in my backpack, Max suddenly came and sat on my armrest.

"What were you writing about?" he asked.
"Nothing, obviously." I replied, trying to brush him off so I could go on with my plan.
"Bea, I know you're writing your diary. I've seen that book before." He raised an eyebrow before continuing. "Were you writing about how my biceps are starting to bulge ever since I started going to the gym and how much you'd like to feel them?"
"Oh Max, the only thing I'd like feel is your butt leaving this armrest. Move over!" I said sweetly, pushing him away so he had no choice but to squat beside me. "By the way, what are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be asleep?"
"Nah... I couldn't sleep, especially when I've got to pee just now."
"Oh, you really did need to go just now." I laughed, recalling how he tried various ways to get pass the bald dude. "Seems like you've successfully got past your... Umm... Obstacle."
He nudged me so that I would stop laughing, but that didn't do the trick. "And what about you? Why aren't you asleep?" He asked, giving up on making me stop laughing. "Busy checking me out, I bet."

Okay, so that made me choked on my own saliva. Which, for this case, probably made me look like a dying goose getting strangled, seeing that Max kept on laughing till Elise started to stir in her sleep.
"Max, shut up!" I said, trying my best to recover from making weird dying goose noise. "You're going to wake the whole plane up!"

A middle-aged businessman turned around and glared at us, so we quickly muffled our laughter. Once he turned around, we started laughing again, but a little quieter this time. After we had a good tummy-aching laugh, Max decided to go back to his seat and sleep. Since I was getting tired too, Operation Finding Connor was aborted.

Just as I thought my chance of meeting Connor was as near to zero percent, Connor actually called my name when Elise and I were waiting for Max to take our luggage.

"Beatrice! Bea! Over here!" he shouted.

I should've been really embarrassed, seeing that Connor had just shouted my name across the whole baggage claim area, but instead, a warm fuzzy sensation started to burn inside me which coincidentally burned my humiliation away.

"Connor?" I replied. "What are you doing here?"
"I thought I might as well give you this since you're in Melbourne." he said while handing me a piece of paper. "If you ever need any tour guiding around here, call me okay?"
"Ohh.. Ummm... Sure?" I stammered.
"Great! I'll see you around then." Before my brain could even decipher what was really happening, Connor had left the airport with his group of friends.

"Bea, are you forgetting to tell me something?" Elise suddenly asked.
"What? That little scene? I bet it happen every once in awhile in an airport."
"Oh my gosh! You have a crush! You're seriously digging that Australian dude! Don't deny it Bea, you're blushing!"

"Who's blushing?" Max suddenly popped in with our luggage.

"Bea! She's blushing because that Australian dude from the airport just ---"

"Lissy, shut up! Aunt Colleen's here already. Come on!" I quickly nudged Elise and pushed Max out of the baggage claim area.

Which leads to where I am now, sitting in my aunt's car with Max in the middle so I could avoid Elise's teasing gaze. Gosh, this trip is going to be one amazing and unforgettable trip, I could just feel it in my bones already!

Author's Note :

So today was my first day of work selling orchids, which as the job scope already suggested, not fun at all. Luckily the place was filled with people, seeing that a Christmas Bazaar was going on. Christmas carols were on replay, promoters from various stands were wearing some sort of Christmas-themed outfit to accommodate the festive season, fairy lights trying way too hard to make the atmosphere seems like its snowing... Making a hopeless romantic as me can't help but to imagine some kind of holiday romance going on in the mall.

Wouldn't that be a fun story line? A barista accidentally spilled his cup of coffee on to a florist's apron and thus begin their love-hate relationship with each other.... Hey, I was bored, the least I could do was imagine how my life would be in a rom-com.

Anyways, hope you enjoy chapter four. Don't forget to comment and vote!

xoxo
