Wednesday Night, Preparing To Go To Bed

Dear Diary,

Where the heck is Elise? It's already bedtime and she has yet to be seen in our room. I wouldn't blame her though, because after what had happened just now, I highly doubt she dares to face me ever again.

After dinner, Tanya, Zoe and Bradley decided to go back to their own homes since it was quite late. So after helping Aunt Colleen with the dishes, I went back to our room, hoping to get some girl time since I haven't seen Elise in a long time. But after checking our bedroom, the living room, the kitchen and the small family room, I gave up. That girl was no where to be seen.

Feeling exhausted, I thought I would get some fresh air by going out to the terrace instead of going into the living room to watch some Australian TV shows (which I should've, come to think of it). I had only been there for about two minutes when a familiar voice with a thick British accent called my name.

"Beatrice?" Tristan called, and I made a mistake of turning my head to face him because from my point of view, Tristan Bailey was half naked. Yes diary, that hot guy who lives next to the Cliffords was shirtless and I would be lying if I said I do not enjoy the view.

"Uhh.. Hey Tristan!" I said while I keep reminding myself hard to look up instead of those washboard abs. "What are you doing? And are T-shirts too overrated from where you come from?"

"Haha. Very funny." he laughed while picking up his shirt and putting it on. "I'm used to taking my shirt off whilst working out." he pointed at the dumbbell behind me.

"It's the end of Autumn and is turning into winter soon." I stated, walking closer to fence so I wouldn't have to strain my voice. "Aren't you suppose to be freezing even when you're in your thickest clothing?" I crossed my arms together, hoping that it would make me a little less colder when the cold breeze came. I seriously got to remember to bring my jacket out more often.

Tristan chuckled. "I live in England, love. I've been through worse. Here, wear this." Before I know it, Tristan Bailey picked his black jacket up and swung it over my shoulders. Weird how I didn't realize how close we were, only having the fence to separate us.

"Umm.. Thanks?" I replied, quickly wrapping the jacket around me so he wouldn't have to have any connection with my skin. But while I was doing that, our hands brushed against each other, and obviously, I blushed madly.

"So, how long are you gonna be here?" he asked, running through his hair with his long fingers.

"A week," I replied, staring at my feet. "I'll be going back next Tuesday."

"Sweet." He said. "The nearest I've ever been to your country was Thailand. God, it was so beautiful there. Me and the lads..." he kept on telling me about his trips and adventures while I just listened quietly. Who knew a guy like him had been on two backpack travels before? As I listened, I really can't help but admiring his point of view in life. How nonchalant and full of charisma. In other words, Tristan was really cool about life itself.

"I just think that people shouldn't worry much, you get me? They should just take it easy and see where time wants you to be. Umm, love? Isn't that your cousin?" he paused. I gave him a questioning look before I turned to the direction he was facing.

Immediately, I shrieked.

"OH MY GOD! ELISE LEE, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?!" I averted my gaze immediately and covered up my eyes. The sight I saw was just utterly unsightly.

I just saw my BEST FRIEND making out with my COUSIN on the bench behind that maple tree.

God knows how long they have been making out there? I was seriously not prepared by that. Elise and Jayden immediately jumped apart when they heard me screamed. Jayden recovered quickly and casually walk up to Tristan and I as though nothing had ever happened. Elise, on the other hand, took a very much longer time to recover. And when she did, the only expression I got from her was a death glare and a nudge in my ribs when she came over.

"Getting cosy back there, Clifford?" Tristan asked. Jayden winked and both of the boys did a fist bump. Gosh, is everything a competition to guys?

"Who's this, Bea?" Elise asked.

"He's Tristan Bailey, the Clifford's neighbor. And Tristan, this is my best friend Elise Lee."

"Nice meeting ya, love."

"Nice to meet you too, Tristan." she eyed me and Joe for a moment. Oh gosh, I know that look of hers. "What were you guys doing out here then?"

"We were talking, obviously. We're not THAT productive like you and Jay." I replied.

"Now, now, little B. Don't get jealous of me and Elise." Jay winked at me. Did I ever mention how much I hate it when someone called me little B? Seriously, how little am I? "Apart from doing that 'productive' thing, as you said, we were also talking about our plans tomorrow. We're going to the Royal Botanic Gardens tomorrow."

"Yea! You and your new...er...friend should come with us!" Elise suddenly suggested. A little too sudden, for my opinion.

"Where are you guys going?" Max suddenly came out to the front yard too.

"We're just planning our activities for tomorrow." I said. "I've got nothing better to do tomorrow, so yea, I guess I'll follow. How about you, Tristan?"

"I guess I could too..." Joe said.

"Hey, count me in! I've got nothing better to do either." Max chirped in.

"I guess it's said. We'll meet up here at 10 am tomorrow and everybody have to bring their own food, okay? We'll be having a picnic since the food there is rather pricey." Jayden concluded.

Everybody agreed, thus bidding each other goodbye since Tristan's mum called him to go inside. When we were about to head into the house, I quickly pulled Elise to the maple tree.

"So, you and Jayden, huh?" I said cheekily. Elise rolled her eyes while blushed a little too obvious before leaving me alone outside. I chuckled.

And so here I am, in our room, wondering when the heck is Elise going to come in. Surely she couldn't avoid me forever, right? Oh, did I mention that I'm still wearing the jacket Joe lent me earlier, diary? Well, I still am. Even now. Thank goodness Elise is too caught up with her own embarrassment to notice the leather jacket, or else she won't be the only one blushing. Gosh, this jacket is really cozy. Maybe I'll ask Tristan where did he bought it and buy one for myself. Wait, is it cozy because of its good material, or is it because it's his.... Hmmmm...

Author's Note :

Hi sweethearts, happy 2018! It's been such a hectic month that I couldn't update. But here I am, ready as ever to complete this story.

On a different side note, has any of you watched the Greatest Showman? If you hadn't, why? Go watch it now! If you had, isn't it the GREATEST show so far? My inner drama nerd was squealing throughout the entire movie.

I guess that's all for now. Don't forget to vote and comment! Until next time.
