Day 5 in Australia

Dear Diary,

I really don't know how to feel right now. All I want to do is jump up and down and squeal and tell Elise everything that had happen. But once I think of Elise, Max popped into my mind too, and I feel guilty all over again. I'll tell you what happen, but I've got to be really quick. This morning, I woke up a lot later than I usually do because I couldn't sleep last night from all the thinking I was doing, so when I finally fell asleep, it was already nearly dusk. When I was all dressed and ready, I realized that Max and Elise were nowhere to be found, Aunt Colleen was out doing grocery shopping, Uncle Frank was doing the taxes, and Jayden and Chris were in the living room playing video games. Since I was too distracted, I straight headed to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee. It was suddenly when someone patted my shoulder that I snapped out from my trance.

"Bea, I think that's enough coffee powder." Chris said after he patted my shoulder and I realized that the coffee mug was half filled with coffee powder.

"Oh.. Uh, thanks..." I said while putting all of the coffee powder back into the bottle. Well, there goes my appetite for a cup of coffee. Once that was done, I turned around and walked out of the kitchen, but was unable to because Chris suddenly grabbed my arm. I guess Chris saw my overly-obvious reaction of shock because just as immediately as he grabbed me, he let go of me.

"Sorry to startle you." He said before inhaling a deep breath. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Why are you avoiding me?"

"I'm not."

"Yes you are. I think I would know it when someone is avoiding me. Don't lie to me."

I hesitated for a second. "Okay, yes, I am."

"Why?" Gosh, Chris should seriously consider being a reporter, seeing that he's good with endless questions.

"I don't know, maybe you're incredibly hot?" I said, slightly annoyed.

He chuckled. "Okay, I know that's not the reason why. If you're really avoiding me because I'm incredibly hot, then you should've avoided me since the first time we met. But seeing you've agree to come with me to visit Monash, I'm pretty sure that not the reason. Although I wanna thank you for the compliment," he winked. "But you started avoiding me AFTER the Monash trip... So I'm guessing something happened then?"

Scratch that, he should be an analysts. "Why do you even care, Chris? Aren't you suppose to care more about your GIRLFRIEND?"

"What girlfriend? What are you talking about?"

"Oh gosh! I'm talking about YOUR girlfriend!"

"Hold up, when did I have a girlfriend?"

"Oh my god! Are you kidding me? The girl in the cafe, remember? The one who hugged and kissed you, or technically speaking, kissed your cheek." I stated obviously. Honestly, I was expecting more of a shocked, regretted, guilty expression. But instead,I got a... Laughing Chris? "What are you laughing about?"

"Do you seriously think SHE'S my girlfriend? Oh god,Beatrice! You seriously just made my day!" he laughed the kind of tummy-aching laugh until I couldn't stand him and almost walked out of the kitchen. "Okay.. I'll stop.. Oh my god Bea, where did you even get that idea from?"

"Well, the fact that what's-her-name came up to me to 'clarify' some things and went up to get cosy with you, it's kinda obvious that she's your girlfriend."

"And you seriously believe her? Bea, Kaitlin is NOT my girlfriend, she's actually my ex. We broke up a few months ago, but she wanted to get back with me after she broke up with the guy she was seeing after me. So technically, I'm not in a relationship or whatsoever." Now diary, I'm not sure what got into me, but I laugh. I laugh really hard until I was literally wheezing.

"Now what are you laughing about?" It was Chris's turn to be confused.

"Oh my... When was the last time I laughed this hard?" I asked no one in particular while trying my very best to recover. Once again, when I was going to leave the kitchen, I was stopped (again) by Chris."Is there anything else you'd like to know?"

"Clearly you're not going to just leave me hangin' here, right?" Chris cocked his eyebrow and I just shrugged. "Okay. So I guess things are clear between us now?"

"I guess so..."

"Great! Anyways, I was going to ask you if you have any plans for today, but judging by how you're still in that cute little pyjamas of yours and how you haven't bothered to brush your hair, I'm guessing you don't have any plans then?" You see diary, I told you he'd be a great analyst! I subconsciously started brushing my hair with my fingers while staring down at my pyjamas. Oh gosh, couldn't I just spare three minutes to make myself more presentable before coming out of the bedroom? "Okay, I'll take your silence as a yes. So how about I take you out today? There's a place I'd like to show you."

"What place?"

"If I tell you now, wouldn't it just ruin the surprise?" he smirked. Gosh, that is one heart-melting smirk, diary!

"Fine, don't tell me then. Let's see how 'surprise' I can get."

"So I'll take that as a yes then? Grand! I'll meet you at the front porch in an hour, I guess that's enough time for you to get ready?"

"Trust me Chris, that's a lifetime for me." I winked and quickly walked back into my room to give you a quick update. Shoot! Well, there goes my ten minutes, I better go shower and pick out a cute outfit now. Bye Diary!
