Monday Morning, 30 minutes later
Dear Diary,
Maybe the problem COULD be solved. Well, at least that's what Tanya thinks. After writing my previous entry and pulling my hair a little too much, I've decided to find Elise. I couldn't take it anymore, we've drifted apart throughout the whole vacation. We've make it a point that we were supposed to spend EVERY single minute in Australia TOGETHER. But throughout our trip, she'd be with Jayden while I'd be with either Connor, Tristan or Chris. Elise was easy to find, she was sitting in our room, staring blankly and the walls.
"Lissy, do you want to talk? You seem a little but troubled." I said gently, taking the spot right beside her.
"I'm fine..." she said.
"Lissy, no, you're not! You've been staring at the ceiling and the walls since last night! You haven't spoken a word the entire night! Please tell me what's wrong."
"I'm serious, Bea! I'm fine. Why don't you just tell me what's the problem you're facing?"
"Hey, don't turn the tables around, OK? Besides, what makes you think that I'M the one who's having problems?"
"Just the fact that you've been hiding away to write in that diary of yours is the most obvious reason to think that you're facing a problem. Why can't you tell me?"
"Gosh, Lissy! I'm not telling you because I'm not going to burden you more with my own problems!" I shouted.
"And what makes YOU think that I'll burden you more with my own problems?" she shouted back at me. There was a pause for a moment before both of us threw our arms wide and hugged each other and cried. If you're wondering, diary, that how could two teenage girls be shouting at one another at one moment, and crying together at the other moment, I really don't know how to answer that. Bloody hormones, I guess. Anyways, while we're crying, Tanya quickly burst into the room to see what had happened.
"God, what happened in here? I heard people shouting when I entered the house, and crying when I was in the hallway." If there's one thing I love about Tanya, is that no matter what situation we're in, she'd always managed to be the calm one. After shush-ing both Elise and I, she asked, "Mind telling me what happened now?"
Elise went first. "It's really nothing, actually. I just couldn't help but feel that it's so hard being around Jayden. I mean, everywhere he goes, there'd be girls staring at him or wanting to flirt with him. Even when I was the one who Jay was bringing, I still feel as if I was second because he doesn't seem to mind the extra attention. And I know I'm on vacation, and I know I should've taken things easy and be more nonchalant about things, but... It's just tiring, I guess."
"It's OK to feel that way, Elise. Every girl wants to feel as though they were the only girl in the world when hanging out with someone they like. No matter if they're on vacation or not. So what I think is that you shouldn't take all the blame because Jay should've been more alert about how you're feeling. Why don't the both of you try and sit down and talk then? Just to clear some things between the two of you. Tell him how you're REALLY feeling and why. He's bound to know sometimes. He may be smart in academics, but he's a dumbass in relationships problems." Tanya said. I wonder where'd I heard the last part from, I mean, it sounds awfully familiar to me.
"Yea, you're right. I should just talk to him, to get some closure or something." Elise said, finally stopped staring at the walls. "Thanks Tan!"
"Don't mention it." Tanya replied. And then she was facing me. "Your turn, wombat. Blurt it out."
And I did. I blurted everything out. From Connor's story, to Tristan's story, to Max's little incident, to Chris's story. Everyone was silent while patiently waiting for my story to end.
"Wait, you went out with all three guys? And all of them asked you out TONIGHT?! Aren't you the lucky one in this trip." Elise muttered.
"Umm... How is this counted as lucky when it's the reason that's making me losing sleep and losing my mind? Wait, aren't you suppose to be more surprise about the whole incident with Max?"
"Hmm... No, I guess. I mean, even a blind person could see that Max was totally trying to kiss you and not tripping on some plant root." She said. "Besides, he's been having a crush on you since you were 13."
"WHAT?!" I shrieked. "And you never have the decency to tell me that?"
"Hello, is there a brain in that head of yours? Of course I wasn't going to tell you. It'd make our friendship SO awkward that you probably find a new best friend because your old best friend's twin brother has a crush on you."
"So, why are you telling me now?"
"Is being a dumbass in relationship a family thing, or is it just you and Jay? Of course I could tell you now, Max already made the first move."
"Oh." was the only response I managed to say. After a while, I asked, "What should I do now?"
Tanya, who's been quiet the whole time when Elise and I were talking, finally asked, "Who do YOU want to go out with?"
"I don't know... I mean, Conner is very sweet, and Tristan's really cool about things, but Chris is so charming... I really don't know how to choose."
"What about Max then?"
"Huh? What about him? Oh, I guess I'll talk to him after I've made my decision." I said absentmindedly.
"OK, tell you what. Why don't you calm yourself down, forget about everybody, and think about the one person that you really want to be with. Remember, the person YOU want to be with. The first person to pop into your mind should be the one whom you should go out with. How about that?"
"Hmm... I guess it could work."
"OK. C'mon Elise, let's not distract her." With that said, both of them left them room.
So here I am, sitting alone in my room, trying for find out who I really want to go out with. I know diary, it seems pretty idiotic, but at least it's worth a try. Okay, here it goes. I'm going to close my eyes, and the first person who pops into my mind would be the person I'll go out with. Empty your mind, Bea... Calm down... And the first person who pops into my mind is.........
OH. MY. GOD.
