Crossing time zones so I don't know what day it is
Day 7 in Australia (also the last day)

Dear Diary,

Elise, Max and I have safely boarded the plane and now we're heading back to Penang. Max is sitting on my right while Elise is sitting on my left, taking up the window seat. I'm not going to deny it, diary, I really need to use the lavatory. But both Max and Elise are asleep, and I don't think I have the heart to wake Max up, seeing that his head is on my shoulder. So, I guess I'll have to wait for Max to wake up or I'll just have to pee myself. Let's hope the second one wouldn't have to happen. Anyways, I'm sorry for not updating you after my last entry, it's mainly because I've been spending my last few hours in Australia with the Clifford's and my best friend and my new... (C'mon Bea, spit it out!) boy... (Almost there!) boyfriend! (OMG, it feels uh-mazing to say -or write, for this case- it out!) Yes diary, if you haven't guessed it already, Max is my new boyfriend. It happened once I realize the person whom I really wish to spend my time with was Max.

Here's what really happened right after Tanya and Elise went out from the room:

The person who popped into my mind was Max. Irony, isn't it? The person whom I wanted to avoid the most was the person whom I wanted to spend my time with most. Soon, I was dashing out of the house because Elise told me that Max had taken a walk around the neighbourhood. From the corner of my eyes, I could see Tanya was nudging Elise and the both were smirking, but I couldn't care any less. I just wanted to find Max. It took me a couple of rounds around the neighbourhood before I came across a park with Max sitting on one of the swings. It never registered in my mind before, but Max looked good in his button-down shirt, dark jeans and leather jacket. I slowly walked towards him.

"Hey..." I said.

"Hey." he replied, looking a little confused.

"Mind if I join you?"

"Sure." And I took the swing beside him. There was a long pause between the both of us. I guess I should've prepared some long, heartfelt speech or something, but I came out in a hurry, so I basically had nothing. Instead, Max was the first to speak. "Aren't you supposed to be preparing for a date with... Who? Connor, Tristan or Chris?"

Doesn't gossip spread like wildfire? "I was, but I couldn't decide."

"How hard could it be?"

"As hard as Physics." I stated. "Remember about the three laws we learnt back when we're Form 4? The Pressure, Boyle's and Charle's law?"

"Yea, what about it?"

"Well, remember what is required for Pressure law to be valid in an experiment?"

"Let me think for a sec, I remembered I thought you these." Max said while thinking hard. "In a fixed amount of mass, the pressure is directly proportional to the absolute temperature provided that the volume is kept constant?"

He remembered! It took me at least a month to finally understand the laws, and Max had been patient with me. "That's right."

"Then how come the experiment isn't working? The specimen has that pretty face and has the physicist thinking about him."

He understood, we're not talking about Physics anymore, we're talking about Connor. "Yes, but that's only the pressure and the temperature. The volume isn't kept constant. Which is, for this case, the physicist's heart. The physicist tend to forget about him when she's not with him, which I think isn't fair to the specimen."

"Okay, so what about Boyle's law then?"

"Sure, the specimen has that pretty face, and sure, the specimen may have the physicist's heart because of his coolness towards life..."

"Hold on, who're we talking about?"

"Tristan."

"OK. Wait, let me guess. The temperature isn't kept constant, which means the specimen isn't able to let the physicist think about him?"

"Positive."

"Which means there's only one more experiment left. But specimen 3 has it all, doesn't he? The pretty face, the physicist's heart, and has the physicist thinking about him. Why isn't the experiment working then?"

"Because this experiment is a bit different than the others. The thing that's supposed to be kept constant is the pressure. And for this case, is the physicist's feelings, but sadly, the specimen can't keep it constant."

"How so?"

"The specimen tends to attract another female physicist, which is making this physicist stressed out."

We were silent again. Max shifted in his swing and faced me, making him closer to me. Our faces were only inches apart, but this time, I wasn't nervous or anything, so I didn't back away. After a while, Max finally spoke. "And what about me then? What experiment am I?"

"That's the problem, you're not an experiment. You're my colleague physicist, we're BOTH physicists. And I need your wise opinion on three of the experiments."

"From what I see, none of the experiment were successfully carried out."

"And ironically, this physicist has fallen for her colleague."

"And even more ironically, this physicist has fallen for his colleague since he was 13."

And then, we kissed. It wasn't all fireworks and people cheering (that's how I picture my first kiss would be), but at least it's a rather quiet and heart-warming kiss. We were the only two people in the park, and I love it. This park and this kiss, it'll be my first. No, it'll be our first. And it'll be our memory. A memory that only belongs to Max and I... And now you too, diary. Anyways, the kiss ended too sudden that it left me wishing that it could go on forever. I guess Max saw the disappointed look on my face because he laughed. "Don't be disappointed, we'll have more of it in the future." he winked.

"Well, who said I wanted to kiss you in the future?"

"Are you kidding? Admit it, Bea. You love it."

"Love what? I don't know what you're talking about." I smiled. The old Max was back. I shivered slightly as the autumn breeze blew past. Seriously diary, I really need to remember about my jacket more often!

"Look at you, you always forgot about your jacket. Here, have mine." With that said, he took his jacket off and had me put it on. And of course, I blushed, diary. But I wasn't embarrassed or anything, because I knew Max knew that's just the way I am.

"C'mon, let's go back." I said, getting up from the swing.

"Hold on," he said, taking my hand. "There's something I got to ask you."

"Well?" I asked since he was silent for a moment.

"Will you..." he nervously brushed his finger through his hair. "Will you... Uhm... Will you be my girlfriend?"

I laughed. Who knew Max would be the kind of person who would get nervous while asking that kind of question. His face went from nervous to worried to relief when he heard me saying 'Yes', because that's the only answer I got in mind.
