Brooke's POV:

Thankfully work has been kind of slow today. I don't think I could handle a busy day. School is beginning to stress me out and not to mention Grayson continuously pushes my buttons.

Sarah and I were filling up salt shakers when both of our heads snap up towards the door and of course it's Grayson with only one friend this time which is surprising. And of course with my luck he sits on my side meaning I have to take his order.

"I can get it if you want." Sarah offers. "Oh no it's fine. You're busy." I say with a soft smile. She sends me a smile of encouragement and I make my way to his table.

"What Can I get you guys to drink?" I say with a fake smile. "Coke." The guy with Grayson says with a grin. "Water." Grayson mutters not Breaking eye contact with his menu. Weird.

I go and grab their drinks and then I ask them for their food order. "Surprised you're not preparing a party since it's Friday." I say breaking the awkward silence as I take their menus.

"Can't party on an empty stomach." He says with a smirk causing me to roll my eyes. "Why don't you come?" His friend ask. "Oh I Uh have to work late tonight." I lie as I scratch the back of my neck. "That's too bad." He says with a grin. I just nod and quickly make my way to the back to put in their orders.

Grayson and his friend eat not saying much or doing anything and they get up and leave. "That was weird." Sarah mutters. "I know right. He's usually way more obnoxious."

We shake it off and continue to fill up the salt shakers.

***********

I guess I didn't really lie to Grayson's friend because I did end up staying late at work and closing up the restaurant.

It's one in the morning as I pull into my driveway and I'm super tired.

As I step out of my car I see the mess in my yard. Tons and tons of red cups and cans litter my freshly cut grass. "Great." I mumble.

I guess I know what I'm doing with my Saturday morning.

**********
The next morning.

I pull my hair up and throw on some jeans and a sweater. I have to clean up the mess in my yard and I'm definitely not happy about it.

I let out a sigh as I head towards my front door. I grab a couple of trash bags on my way out.

Grayson's POV:

As I make my way to my kitchen I see Brooke outside picking up the mess in her yard and i immediately feel bad because I know she worked late last night.

"Shit." I mutter to myself as I quickly slip on some shoes not really caring that I have a t-shirt and sweats on.

I swing my door open and Brooke glances up at me and then returns to picking up the mess.

"Let me help." I mutter as I walk up to her. She stands up straight. "Just leave me alone Grayson." She speaks quietly. This makes my heart drop for some reason. I don't know if it's because I got rejected or that I really wanted to help her.

My eyebrows furrow. "I know you worked late last night. The least I can do is pick this up." I say looking around at the mess.

Brooke's POV:

Why won't he just leave me the hell alone like I told him to. I'm not in the mood to listen to him talk.

I roll my eyes and pick up the half full trash bag and head back into my house without saying a word. I can't deal with this right now. I'll get the mess later.

Grayson's POV:

I watch her walk back into her house and I look at the mess she leaves behind. I turn on my heels and jog back into my house.

I grab some trash bags from my kitchen and run back to her yard. I can't believe I'm doing this.

Why am I doing this? It's not like we're friends or anything.
