Chapter 24 ~ How to win a war: Chaos style
Lee Fletcher/Sun
Thanks to the Omega Division, Camp Jupiter was saved. The leigon was scary when fighting. I never knew the Romans, but now I'm glad I was dead by the time they tried to wage war on us Greeks.
The leigon was great at fighting, but low in numbers. Reyna and Frank had both been...injured. Frank was stabbed through the stomach while protecting Hazel (I've never been more scared of someone, I almost felt bad for the monsters). Reyna, well she was dead. She was fighting a giant with her mother, Bellona, when she was (literally) stabbed in the back by s traitor demigod. Hazel killed him too (that girl is scary!)
With the loss of their preadors, the leigon seemed to loose the will to fight. We had sent Bear (Octavian) and Victory (Chloe) over to Camp Half-Blood, due to Star messaging us and asking. Apparently they were under attack by even more monsters. Now I regret that decision. Family's had come out from New Rome to fight, elders and children, some under the age of ten, fought alongside the leigon.
"Commander!" Darkness yelled, running over. "We're down more warriors. Strength, Huntress, you, and I are the only ones left."
That wasn't good. I shot another hellhound, making it explode into dust before it could make a meal out of a child. The girl smiled at me and ran for the next monster, holding a sword that she could barely lift.
I could only watch as another Half-Blood fell, his spear falling out of his hand.
I couldn't stand it. I couldn't just let these half-bloods die. I'm in the Army of Chaos, I should be able to do something to save them.
Chaos answered me. The Omega Divison fell out of the sky, glowing a starry purple-black, galaxy like color. Then I realized the rest of the Beta Division and I were also.
The monsters finally started going back to Tartarus. Chaos must havw done something. We all know he doesn't follow the ancient laws.
Soon, Camp Jupiter was free of monsters.
"Let's go to Camp Hlaf-Blood and see if our friends need help."
***
Camp Half-Blood was doing okay. The Hunters of Artemis had come to help, those ladies were awesome!
Darkness grinned from under her hood, "Oh yeah. There's my people."
Their lieutenant shot down another few monsters. Thalia Grace. I guess she stayed a Hunter after the Titan War.
Huntress and Darkness looked over at me. I sighed, "Yes, yes, go see your people."
They cheered and ran off.
The same thing seemed to be going on here. The Chaos warriors glowed as they fought. Monsters returned to Tartarus.
And then Festus flew onto the battlefield. Festus the dragon, I mean. Leo Valdez does not fly. That'd make him even worse (no offense Leo).
About five monsters were down from his fire. Gaea and a few giants, along with a few hellhounds, some empousi, and a few other types of monsters (such as earthborns) We're all that was left.
Piper McLean seemed to know what to do. Her and about six others from the Aphrodite Cabin stepped up.
"You want to give up." They said, charmspeak flowing. It took all my willpower not to drop my bow and give up.
"Yo do not what to fight us. Gaea, you want to sleep. And hellhounds, why don't you let someone deal with you. Sit quietly, very good. Empousi, you want to wait as some of our campers send you back to Tartarus. Earthborn, you will go back into the Earth and leave us alone. Go to sleep with your mistress. Giants, you do not what to fight us. You can also go with your mother. Any other monsters want to return to Tartarus."
Travis Stoll started walking away in a daze, but Katie Gardener rolled her eyes and pulled him back.
Soon, all the monsters were gone.
Clarisse and Jason started the cheer, "Aphrodite kids! Aphrodite kids!"
Jason ran up to his girlfriend and gave her a congratulations kiss.
Everyone seemed happy. We would have to deal with the dead later. Shrouds would be burned, mourning would be done. But for now everything was peaceful. Everything was happy. The war was won.
So naturally, that's when Chaos had to appear and ruin everything.
I was gonna stop it at "The war was won." Then I was like, that's no fun. Sooo, here's a cliffhanger!
This book is almost done, maybe 2 or 3 more chapters and then the sequel. Thank you guys for reading, and I apologize for the short chapters, any mistakes I've made, and any bad writing there was. Thank you guys for sticking with it and reading this. I know Chaos story's are the thing not to do now, but I had read so many and had a whole plot planned. So here we are.
Thank you guys, and remember to Expect the Unexpected. You never know what could happen in these next few chapters...
