There have been so many mixed feelings between Michael and I recently. I told him that the kiss was a mistake, he agreed, but goes and makes my stomach do somersaults. The kiss. The kiss was something I replayed ever since Michael left my house two hours ago.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by someone knocking on my bedroom door. I jumped up off my bed, hoping to see Michael. I came face to face with Luke. My smile dropped into a smaller smile. "Luke, what are you doing here? I thought Michael was going to help you with a paper?" I questioned and moved the falling hairs from my face.
Luke rubbed the back of his neck and pushed past me, now standing in the middle of my room. "I told him that I was going on a walk." I never really took the time to look at Luke but he was really good looking. His blonde hair was styled upwards, his eyes were amazingly blue, his lips were complimented by a black lip ring, and his legs seemed to go on forever.
"What's up?" I sat down on the edge of my bed and looked up at Luke.
"I'm having girl trouble, Gabriella." He sighed deeply. Luke ran his fingers through his hair nervously. "I've been having this on and off relationship with this girl at school," he paced back and forth, "her name is Sasha and she's been seeing this other guy because we're not really exclusive."
"Luke," I started, "How do you feel about Sasha? Putting all of the complicated stuff aside."
"I feel great. She makes me feel great." Luke huffed and plopped himself next to me. "I'm so in love with her, Gabriella, and she doesn't even know."
"Hang on what about Amber?" I remembered. Luke was sitting in front of me confessing his love about another girl.
"Eh she was just a one night stand." He said like it was no big deal. "Anyways, Sasha and I have known each other for two years and just last year we've developed these feelings towards each other. I don't know what the hell to do or say to make her want to have an actual relationship with her." Luke looked exhausted and confused. Poor guy. It seemed to me that he thought more about Sasha then Sasha thought about him. "She's the reason I was kind of a secluded jerk in the beginning of the year."
"Have you talked to Michael about this?" I figured he would be more help to Luke than I could at the moment. I had never been good at giving people advice.
"Him, Calum, and Ashton are the only people I talk to." He pointed out. "So yes I would say I've talked to Michael about it. He says I need to confront her, but I'm only 17 and I like green apples."
"Luke listen," I rested my hand on his shoulder, "I have to agree with Michael. You won't get anything unless you go for it." He let out a long sigh. "I know its hard confronting your feelings."
"Hey speaking of confronting feelings," Luke perked up, changing the subject, "what's up with you and Michael?"
I tried to tip toe around the subject. "What do you mean?" I started playing with the wrinkles in my sheets.
"Don't play this game with me Gabriella." Luke scolded. "I haven't seen Michael smile and actually mean it in a long time. You wanna know when he smiles like that?" I shook my head. "I'll tell you when, when he gets a text from you."
"But he doesn't even like me like that Luke!" I protested. "When I told him that the kiss was a mistake he agreed."
"Are you blind?" He questioned. Luke's eyes got big and his voice rose. "The mistake was you saying that. You kissed him and something happened. He seemed happier than he usually is."
"I don't know." My voice trailed off.
"That's fine because I know." Luke was sure laying down the law. "When James made a move on you, Michael said he could've done a lot more than one punch."
I looked up from my sheets and looked directly at Luke. "He really said that to you?"
"I kind of interrogated him about it, but lets go with he's just an open book around me." Luke chuckled slightly. I didn't know if I wanted to hear all of this Michael stuff at once. It made me nervous to think that our relationship could change. I've only known Michael as the annoying, jackass, and rude guy who I was interested in. That's why I told him that our kiss was a mistake. "Gabriella, I suggest you do something about it."
"What the hell. I basically just said the exact same thing to you, Luke."
He stuttered, trying to think of something to come up with. "It was such good advice that I thought you had to hear it from someone else." He smiled, clearly pleased with himself.
"I guess you're right." I slouched.
"Fuck yea I'm right."
"But what I don't get is why Michael hasn't made a move yet. I've done plenty of 'move worthy' things." It was frustrating how oblivious Michael was to some things.
"Gabriella you have to take matters into your own hands. Michael is kind of afraid that you'll turn him down if he does anything."
"I hate him so much for making me do this." I said under my breath. "I wouldn't even know where to begin." I said louder this time so Luke could hear.
"Just be hot around him, kiss him again, take up volleyball I don't know." He suggested.
"I hope you take your own advice seriously with Sasha because it's not bad." Luke blushed and played with his lip ring. "I'm serious." He nodded, letting me know he heard what I was saying.
"Thanks Gabriella." He smiled genuinely.
"No problem Luke." I returned the smile and shrugged a little.
Luke figured that our conversation had ended and he stood up off my bed and walked towards the door. He stopped as soon as he heard me speak again. "Hey Luke," I turned around to face him, "thank you."
"Anytime. I just hope you found the answers that you needed." He said quietly and exited my room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I was amazed at how good he was at giving advice. He helped me out more than someone like my mom ever could.
He was completely right. I had to make the first move with Michael or we could be going in circles for a while. But my fear was taking the first step. I had never had to do anything like this with guys before. I was a virgin when it came to making a first move. I guess I had to take what Luke said into consideration. "Just be hot around him, kiss him again, take up volleyball I don't know." His accent was so clear when he said it, it was hard not to forget.
Unfortunately for me I had figured out early on that I sucked at volleyball. The only sport I was actually good at was softball. Ruling out the sports approach I now had two left. Which one to choose.
I considered kissing him again. But that could just leave him confused. If I was "being hot around him", as Luke said, it could also cause confusion. I wanted Luke to come back and tell me exactly what to do.
I groaned and fell back on my bed. Letting the sheets form around my body. Damn, falling for Michael Clifford was hard.
