"Make sure you're putting your second finger on the third fret" Jeff advised.
Jeff and Eddie were long-time friends, and they could read each other like books.
"Yeah yeah, I got it" Eddie mumbled in a sad tone, not looking at Jeff. As if Eddie had an idea, he shot his head up, looking at Jeff straight in the eyes.
"Listen, I kinda have a headache so I'll be heading home. I don't think Brooke would be too happy with me if I'm late." Eddie quickly stated. Jeff knew he was lying, but there was no good in arguing. Jeff also knew about what Brooke can be like at times, and every time they had to part ways, he'd always wish Eddie luck, and Eddie would look back at him whilst walking the other way, faintly giving him a smile."Here I'll take that from you" Jeff said, gesturing to Eddie to give him the guitar. As Eddie was passing over the guitar, his shirt sleeve fell down, only to reveal a huge, violety coloured bruise. Eddie didn't notice what Jeff had seen, and as he started to wonder why his friend paused. As soon as Eddie realised his arm was showing, he abruptly threw down his sleeve and made his way to the exit.
"It's locked, I have the keys remember?" Jeff continued.
"Eddie, what's been going on with you and Brooke? I know she hit you again. You didn't exactly do a great job at hiding that red mark across your face either" Jeff chuckled.
Eddie was still by the door, facing away from him. Soon after, Jeff broke his laugh."It's alright, I have it under control. Can I have they keys?" Eddie quickly mumbled, in almost a whisper as if he was afraid someone else would hear him.
There was a pause. Eddie gave in.
"I hate to sound like a nuisance to you Jeff, I really do but I can't control this anymore. What do I do?? I can't go back there Jeff, I can't! Shell hurt me again, and I can't stand another day with that bitch!" Eddie cried, pacing back towards Jeff. Before he could continue, Jeff threw himself in."Firstly, don't ever feel like a nuisance Eddie, ever. Secondly, I'm happy you finally told me. Who knows how long it took you to say those words? I'm here to help you, I love you, as a friend of cour-"
Before he could say anymore, Eddie threw himself onto Jeff, hugging him. He was afraid to let go, he felt safe. As Eddie calmed down, he continued."I feel a lot better now that I've told you Jeff, I really do, but this has to stay between us okay? I'll go back there tonight, pack my things and drive far away from here. Just tell the band I'll be taking a break" Eddie said, not breaking his hug. He slyly took the keys out of Jeff's pocket and made his way to the door. Eddie thanked him.
"What about your headache?" Jeff loudly asked.
Eddie chuckled.
"You truly are something else Jeff, you know that?"
