Finding you

Chapter 25

"Hello?"
"Chris, come quick! I need you!"

Eddie was awakened by the phone ringing, and went to answer it whilst Chris was asleep.

"Oh, this is Eddie" he said with a tired voice
"Where's Chris!? Stone, Jeff and I have called a taxi"

"What's going on??"
"Just get Chris!" The girl shouted. Eddie could hear the tears even though he couldn't see them.

He paced over to him and shook him, waking him up.

"There's a girl on the phone and she needs to talk to you, now" Eddie told him whilst Chris was rubbing his eyes.

"Alright alright"

Chris jogged to the phone.

"Hello?"
"Chris! Help me, please!"

"Xana? What's going on, what's up?" Chris's voice was tensing up the longer he was on the phone. Xana was hysterical and he didn't know why.

"Andy's dying! He's not dead but he's not gonna live, but he's alive and you have to come over, now!"

"What!? Xana you're confusing and scaring me! Okay okay, where are you headed?"

"The hospital, the taxi has just arrived outside our house, meet us outside asap."

"But -"

Xana hung up. Chris's eyes were tearing up and Eddie stood up from the bed, walking to Chris.

"The fuck just happened?" Eddie asked, sounding concerned.

"I have a close friend called Andy of whom has been struggling with drugs for some time. Xana was on the phone, his girlfriend, and she's saying that he's dying and I gotta be there as quick as possible."

Eddie leaned in to kiss him and hug him

"Chris I'm so sorry" Eddie said, his voice was muffled as he spoke into Chris's shoulder.

"It's alright. Listen, I'll drive to the hospital and I'll be back when I am. I love you"

Eddie pulled away from the hug, making eye contact once more.

"I love you too, stay safe"

Chris was in his wardrobe, bashing the hangers together and finding a shirt.

"Will do, when I come back we can talk more about Pearl Jam, alright?"

Eddie nodded, "Sure"

Chris smiled as he stepped into his shorts, hastily ran to the door and grabbed the keys and closed the door.
