After having a staring contest for a good 10 minutes, she finally had to crack a smile and just laugh at the whole thing. After not saying a peep to him once besides that one interaction 2 weeks ago, she finally decided to put her pride down and speak. Their conversation flowed like water, and it was crazy how unwilling she was to talk to him in the first place.

When she initially walked into Tati's, she was prepared to have a pretty normal day doing the work she needed to finish by the end of the week. It was packed to say the least, with the only seat available being at his table. She audibly sighed knowing the spectacle that would be made out of this once she had to walk over there and sit down.

She didn't even ask to sit down, just doing as she pleased she began to get to work. Little does she know that there was an extra seat that was once at her table, but he had moved it over to his after growing tired of the constant stares but no actual interaction.

Chuckling to himself, he finally mustered up the courage to say, "Yo! You really ain't gon say nothing, huh? Wassup?"

Chuckling to himself, he finally mustered up the courage to say, "Yo! You really ain't gon say nothing, huh? Wassup?"

"Nigga, you really don't know me like that. Don't push it. You know I'm only sitting here because I have to because trust and believe I could be anywhere else."

"You don't gotta be rude, Naila. You know you wanna talk to me, don't be so standoffish. It's alright that you're intimidated by my handsomeness! No biggie you know, you're beautiful yourself."

"Why thank you, but you don't intimidate me in any way, shape, or form. Don't get too cocky. But lemme just do my work alright? And how you know my name anyway?"

"Figured it out somehow. I'ma let you go ahead and do that though. Have fun."

He was sneaking sly glances similar to those they had been sharing in the past couple of weeks. He couldn't help but be compelled by the hazel-green of her eyes and by the sharp heart shape of her lips. Her features all fit together in just the right ways, and she made it seem so effortless. The light layer of makeup on her skin wasn't caked up or overwhelming, just enough to where you could tell she put forth the effort to look nice and put together. Whenever he looked down, she looked up. The plump, round shape of his lips and the deep chocolate brown of his eyes had her breath caught up in her throat, and she absentmindedly began to count all the individual freckles on his face. Really being able to examine each others features was an experience they definitely relished in, and the silence after the more than awkward conversation wasn't awkward at all, being more peaceful than anything.
