"i don't get high
but lookin' in your eyes, i'm lifted
can we make this tradition?
your kisses make all my doubts go away"

Hearing my phone buzz repeatedly on the bedside dresser in my hotel room, I sleepily reached over to answer the phone without even bothering to look at the caller ID to see who was on the other line. Soon enough I was overcome with worry as I heard Kaison's distressed voice on the other end.

"Baby ... where are you?"

"I'm still at the hotel, I'm sleep. Why, what's wrong baby?"

"I just got back from visiting moms in Virginia. I wish you could've joined me but I'm hopping in my ride now and I should be there in about 15 minutes, stay up for me. Is that alright with you?"

"Yeah ... get here soon, I been missing you."

"I'll see you baby." And with the click of the telephone, he was gone. Tonight was a night I had been dreading since the tour started, meaning that tomorrow was the day he was leaving the country without me. Tonight and tomorrow morning would be the last days I'd be spending with him for some time and I had ultimately came to a decision that neither him or I were going to like when it came to fruition. My heart was shattering in my chest just thinking about what the possible outcome of my revelation could be. I didn't want me and my distance weighing heavily on his heart while he's away on tour, so I came to the conclusion that it would be best if we temporarily separated until he came back. Since tour started we haven't been as close or intimate as we were before which was to be expected, but I missed the Kaison I knew back in Seattle and this definitely wasn't him. The person I had been occupying my space with was short tempered and often had an attitude, and it seemed like lately I had been dealing with "Chris" more than Kaison and I was becoming fed up.

Trying to doze off a little before he came to join me, I fluttered my eyes shut and got comfortable in the plush mattress of the hotel bedroom right before I heard the door sliding open. Feeling the bed dip next to me, I turned over and saw an exhausted Kai give a sleepy smile before asking me to get up and join him in the kitchen.

Turning on the overhead lights in the luxury suite he had booked for us, or me rather, for the past three days I was able to see more of his features with the bright full moon outside radiating from the patio sliding door. He seemed to be in a more solemn and calm mood than he had been lately, and I immediately felt more at ease and confident about saying the inevitable because who knows how he would have taken it if he was still irritable.

Picking me up and sitting me on the island in the middle of the kitchen, my cheeks started to get cold against the cold and hard marble beneath me. I had missed him a lot since he had been gone the past 3 days, but unfortunately I wasn't able to join him in Virginia. As I wrapped my arms around his neck to get a better and closer view of his face, his big orbs of dark brown scanned my face before a deep smile was etched on his face.
