luna didn't think about it, her overwhelming desire to try new things clouded any fear that could have possibly reared its ugly head. she watched intently as michael carefully pulled a rainbow colored sheet from between the flaps of aluminum foil, luna glanced over at luke seated next to her in michael's tricked out "apartment". his attention stays on his phone however, typing harshly against the screen so luna just shifts her gaze to nicole, michael's blue haired girlfriend. she meets luna's eyes giving her a little encouraging smile before nudging michael who looks up from his task of separating the drug. nicole whispers something in his ear and he smirks looking directly at luna.

"you'll be okay luna, we got you." he assured, passing a small square to calum which immediately got placed on the middle of his tongue. nicole followed suit, michael mimicked her actions, and luke casually stuck the paper to his tongue without even looking away from his phone.  luna continued to sit with the drug placed in her hand.

"you don't have to babe." luke mumbled lacing their fingers together, finally setting his phone face down between them. two seconds is all it took for luna to decide, popping the acid into her mouth. michael cheers from the refrigerator, pulling out a six pack of Corona and a bottle of coconut rum before heading back to the couch. luna reaches for the liquor only to have luke hold her back, taking her chin in his hand before steadying their gaze. he says nothing, just studies the lines of luna's face and she can't decide if she should look away or not. luna wondered if maybe he was already over the moon, tripping out of his mind as he stared as her. his pupils appeared normal and luna should have known the effects of the drug wouldn't be immediate.

"how long does it take?" she asked no one in particular, assuming she'd get an answer from someone.

michael shrugged, it was calum who spoke up. "forty five minutes, an hour." he too shrugs nonchalantly and luna just nods, fighting hard against the anxiety clawing through her icy veins. she knew this would only cause negative effects with the drug, she was petrified of a bad trip so luna swipes the rum from the table, tilting the bottle back until it no longer burns.

"lulu, slow down." luke slurs, his face now in the crook of her neck. feeling loose, as if all her knots had begun to untangle, luna twisted a heavy hand in luke's blond hair. minutes go by without anyone saying anything and luna began feeling a slight weight to her bones, she looks around the room everything moves blearily leaving her to wonder if the alcohol kickstarted the drug.

"lukey." luna whispers, swiveled her head toward him and just seeing his beautiful face sent childlike giddiness pumping through luna's veins. "lukey, i love you." she giggled nuzzling her face in the crook of his neck, inhaling deeply luna relished in the smell of luke. his skin smelt of sweat and dragon's blood -earthy cedar wood and orange, sweet and spicy, the epitome of all that is luke- it's something she never seemed to notice before.
