From an early age,
We are taught to hate one another.
We are told girls are
Catty, dramatic,
That they steal from
Each other.

We are bred to
Compete against other women,
And never dare
"Be like the other girls."
We learn to resent
Our fellow women
For the lack of
Worthy bachelors in the world.

We call each other names
Either bitch, or slut, or whore
Failing to understand
That by shaming other women,
We will always lose the war.

Never seen as individuals
With respective talents,
Traits, or success.
If two women aim
For the same career,
One must always be the best.

And it seems
In everything we do,
We face a double standard.
Having many sexual partners
Makes us lewd;
If we have none,
Then we are prudes.
If a man asserts himself,
He is "being a man" —
If we do, we are rude.

But if girls were
To support one another,
The world would surely change.
Imagine all the good we could do
If we refused to play
Into such games.
