Chapter 4
“He’s your brother!?” I jolted as realization hit me, their resemblance and behavior towards one another now making sense.
“Is it really that hard to believe?” Christina laughed, “Now stop moving!” She grabbed my foot again and placed it back on the towel and began painting my toenails once more. We had decided to go back to her place after we shopped a little more, and we were in her room now, believe it or not, at the same mansion the party had been held! Which meant only one thing… SHE WAS FILTHY RICH! Oh, and the daughter of Loretta and Tom. Still hard to wrap my head around it…
“Well,” I hesitated, “I don’t know. I kind of see the resemblance now.” I sighed, “What did he want you to do?” I finally asked, the curiosity had been gnawing at me ever since Christina’s future became true.
“You heard?” She grimaced. I didn’t answer, “He wanted me to tell you he was sorry.”
“I know that!” I suddenly blurted.
“Really?” She looked at me curiously, “What parts did you hear?”
I told her, imitating her voice from the start of my vision. “Why should I help you? You know what you did to her!” I turned back to my normal voice, “And everything after that.”
She looked at me with surprise, “You’re a good ventriloquist! Nothing really happened much before that. It started when I finished washing my hands, he suddenly appeared and he was practically begging me to pass on his message.” She shrugged, blowing lightly on my toes to help them dry a little faster.
“What was his message?” I couldn’t help myself from getting excited; maybe I should have let him explain that one night.
She looked up at me again, a smirk presenting itself on her cute face, “Why should I?” She cocked her head slightly.
“Fine then.” A smirk played at my lips now, “I’ll just accidentally blab about your trip to Spencer’s, and about you buying a certain toy…”
Her eyes widened and her mouth gaped in horror. “Tell me why we’re besties again?!” I looked at her, daring her to not tell me what Nate said, “Fine. Fine.” She gave in, “He said, and I quote, ‘I didn’t want to push you because you would have had to commit to something that you didn’t know about’. Happy now?” She looked at me with a little glare.
I didn’t hear her after that.
He actually does want me.

“Really?” A woman’s voice squealed, “Who is she?! Oh my goodness! My baby’s finally found her!”
“Luna, her name is Luna.” Nate’s voice sounded in my ears as Christina and I tiptoed to the kitchen, wanting to steal some snacks. Christina had told me that her mom was very strict about snacking, cause it was total chaos with all the fights over the last box of cheez-its or anything such as that. I thought it was quite weird, but what would I know of rich people. I think that there was something she wasn’t telling me, but I knew it wasn’t time to confront her.
She stopped in front of me and I crashed into her, both of us falling over. We lay there on the ground, deciding to just eavesdrop on the conversation until they leave. I strained my ears to listen in, but all I could hear were whispers. This suddenly sounded like the vision I had when I passed out during the bonfire in an *ahem* room…
