"I still can't believe we bumped into them tonight." George expressed his disbelief in meeting Jack and Joe in Nandos. "Do you think they'll talk to us at the event?"
"We'll have to see and find out." I told him, deep down praying they would.
The conversation starting with just myself and Jack was beyond awkward, however once we started talking as a group the banter was top notch and it was just so nice to have such a general conversation with them. I know they're real people, it's just that you don't expect to have that kind of vibe with people as famous as that. You don't expect to be worth their time, they have their own friends on their level and aren't interested in sharing the limelight with amateurs. It just seemed so unreal and I feel like I have to experience it again to believe it actually happened.
"They seem like genuine guys." Dylan said. "If we pass by them they wouldn't just blank us."
"Maybe they'll introduce us to some of their mates. When they left Nandos I saw them walk out with Casper and Josh. Casper is hilarious, I wish we got the chance to speak to him earlier." George said and Dylan nodded in agreement.
"And imagine if we could get Joe and Casper to appear on our channel. That would set us for life." Dylan laughed.
"You just sound like phonies now. Thought you said it doesn't matter about the following as long as the fans are true to you."
"That still stands, but if you had someone like them feature on your channel just think about the audience you would attract and the amount of fans they have who don't have any idea we exist until they have that reason to discover us. I'm not talking about using them, but it would help to get our names out there."
"Or we can just wait for our moment and make it ourselves."
"Are you saying if you were given the opportunity to collab with one of the guys you would say no?" Dylan questioned.
"No, of course not, but I'd rather imagine a future where my fans have discovered me themselves, enjoy my individual content and don't just subscribe to my channel waiting for the next collaboration with Joe to pop up."
"I don't get what you're getting at when you already collaborate with us which is basically the same thing." George stated.
"I don't know it felt different with you. You guys messaged me and I felt like we connected so fast that our first video was like I was just making an ordinary video with a couple friends, plus you guys didn't have the biggest following so honestly I didn't think of it in that kind of way, whereas doing one with them could be a complete game changer and it would feel like I've cheated my way into gaining an audience."
"OK, I get you." Dylan told me. "But if the three of us ever came across the chance we're taking it. Just saying."
I nodded in response. There was no way to get it out their heads so I would just have to accept it. I just thought they had their head too high in the clouds, Jack and Joe may have known who we were but asking to collaborate seemed a bit too far off the maps for now to be frank.
"For now let's just focus on us and our videos. The camera is all set him. Do you guys have the Jelly Beans?" I asked
George and Dylan nodded getting all the equipment we needed out the bag. I started the camera and joined them on the side of the bed.
"Hello everyone." I began talking to the camera. "It's Demi here along with my two favourites, Dylan and George." The boys introduced themselves to the video and I continued. "Today we're bringing you the Bean Boozled Challenge! This challenge has been highly requested and as much as I'm not looking forward to the outcome of these Jelly Beans, I am excited to bring it to you."
The three of us started the game and on our first go Dylan and I got nice flavours, next it was George.
George took out a black bean, he bit half of it and started chewing. "Hmm.. it's quite nice actually." He chewed some more and swallowed. "I'm pretty sure it was chocolate. I mean it didn't taste exactly like chocolate and I'm not sure what canned dog food is meant to taste like, but I quite enjoyed it so it must definitely have been chocolate."
"If it's chocolate are you not going to eat the other half?" Dylan asked laughing.
"Yeah I will. I just didn't want to eat it all at once if it turned out to be canned dog food." He admitted.
Before George went to eat the other half I stopped him. "I'm quite intrigued to know what the chocolate tastes like actually. It must be hard to make a Jelly Bean taste like chocolate."
"Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It didn't really taste like chocolate, but it was quite a ravishing taste."
"Can I try the other half?"
"Go for it." George said handing me the other half of the Jelly Bean.
I popped the Jelly Bean in my mouth and started chewing. However my taste buds were suddenly overcome with a horrid taste and I spat the disgusting Jelly Bean back out.
"What was wrong with it?" Dylan asked laughing at my reaction.
"That was not chocolate!" I screamed in disgust pulling a sour face.
"It was." George defended.
"That was definitely canned dog food, George!"
"No it wasn't."
"There's only on way to settle this." Dylan spoke up. "We try more of the same colour until we find one that tastes different and figure out which one was the bad one."
"Not happening." I laughed. "No way am I going to try another one of those Jelly Beans that might be another canned dog food if I don't have to."
"I'll do it then." Dylan took out another brown Jelly Bean, like George he only took a bite out of half of it and it was just a matter of seconds before he started screwing up his face as he tried to indulge the taste. "Now that is canned dog food." He then handed it to George. "Try this one."
George took the Jelly Bean out his hand and ate it. Once again he tried the Jelly Bean and seemed to enjoy it shaking his head.
"It's just a weird tasting chocolate." He said shaking his head causing Dylan and I to crack up.
"There's no such thing as a weird tasting chocolate." I said. "Maybe you just like dog food."
"Next time we do a video George, I'm challenging you to eat canned dog food." Dylan told George.
"Ah come on man, that's rank." George disagreed with his video idea.
"Well you seem to be enjoying it now."
We teased George about liking dog food for a few minutes and then carried on with the game. After we wrapped up the video we decided to start a quick Instagram live video to talk about the event tomorrow before heading off to our separate room and going to bed.
I was feeling slightly less nervous about the event after meeting Jack and Joe and overcoming the awkwardness I faced with Jack, I just hoped tomorrow I would be more prepared to talk to the other Youtubers if they started speaking to me and wouldn't end up the same way Jack and I did to begin with.
