Ellion Rune hugged himself, trying to pull warmth into his body but everything felt cold. He was just empty. He'd never felt this terrible, this alone, in his entire life. He could envision the words coming from her mouth followed by her actions and he wondered how he had fallen for her. Everything about them was a lie.

"Oh yes, Oriel, tell them all your wondrous plan. You've pulled it all together quite beautifully, I must admit. None of this would be possible without you." Hansard took a step towards her but she stepped away, shaking her head.

"No. You will never be able to do that again. I've been sealed off from your controls." She refused and tried to make eye contact with Ellion but he avoided her gaze, brows furrowed.

"Oh, come on, darling girl, you didn't actually think that you fit in with these heroes. Did you? You belong with us. With the outcasts, they all treated so badly." He crooned.

"I do not belong anywhere near you. My family is here." She pulled further away.

"Don't you want to take credit for everything you've accomplished? Like fooling the entire Sanctuary that you'd returned for any reason other than to spy on them for me after you'd escaped? Or all the information you fed me about everything you had discovered right up until this moment. Or my personal favourite, making Ellion Rune fall helplessly head over heels for you to slip your way into the group." Hansard smiled darkly and Ellion gasped, feeling like a knife of ice had stabbed him.

He looked to her for some kind of reassurance that it was all a lie but she could only stand there, hanging her head shame. "Alice..." her name a whisper of breath leaving his lips.

"Shut up! This is just another one of your ploys to get into her head." Valkyrie raged, the flames flaring in her eyes.

"Alice Edgley, be a darling and silence her once and for all. I find that she's quite annoying once you've already lived the fantasy of dating her." He ordered and her face went slack as she turned to Valkyrie. In a flash, her arm was raised and a spike of diamond shot from her palm heading toward Valkyrie like a bullet.
