Ghastly Bespoke ran his hands over his bald, scarred head pondering about how it all went wrong. Where it all went wrong. Everything had been going so well, but of course, none of their plans could ever turn out perfect. He glanced around the empty space in his cell thinking about his girlfriend. Would he ever see her again?

Tanith Low sighed and dusted her leather pants off as she stood, glaring back at the narrow hole they'd all emerged from. Ghastly looked around at the cavity of rock they now stood in. Across the way was a large archway. He didn't have to look to Alice to know from the cruel aura that was being emitted from the area that it was the tomb they were searching for. He looked to the blonde beauty beside him and held out his hand for her to grip as they all strode forward. Skulduggery was now in the lead, inspecting strange carvings above the archway.

"This is it." He said.

"Okay, Val, you ready?" Alice took a deep breath and held out her hand for her sister to grab. "We're going to put everything we can into a giant orb of pure magic."

"No, what you're going to do is stop right there and surrender. It'll just make it easier for both of us." A male voice came from behind them and they all spun around in alarm. Ghastly glanced over to Tanith to see her already drawing her sword at the sight of Hansard Kray and several others behind him.

"I guess I have to thank you, really, for saving us the trouble of picking Alice and Vivi up ourselves to bring them here. And you girls, amazing work! I'm proud of you." Hansard smirked smugly.

"What's he on about?" Donegan pulled a gun out.

"I don't know, but whatever his master speech is I think I'll have to cut it short." Tanith said, narrowing her steely eyes and twirling her sword loosely in one hand.

Ghastly sighed deeply, frowning with worry. Why was it that villains always turned up at the most convenient times for them?
