The guards moved behind the row of prisoners and yanked their heads back to gaze at the sky, forcing their necks to be exposed to Lord Vile. Alice watched the fear on Ellion's face and had to dig her nails into her thigh to stop herself from doing anything. Shadows began gathering around Vile's armoured fist and as he raised his arm he brought it swinging in a wide arc and his shadows flew, slicing exactly eight necks as blood gushed over the grass, staining it red.
Chaos erupted, but not upon the wall as Hansard was expecting, but among his own allied forces. He lunged for Alice, already knowing what she had done, but she stepped out of his reach as the people she'd convinced to join her turned on the rest of the army, taking out as many as they could of the opposing forces. The dark-haired woman Alice had been maintaining eye contact with freed the still-alive prisoners, stepping over the eight guards' slit throats. Vile never misses his target, and thanks to Alice convincing him to join her cause so he could kill as much as he wanted, he had done exactly as she'd told him.
"Alice Edgley, call them off. CALL THEM OFF RIGHT NOW!" Hansard roared, spit flying everywhere as the veins in his neck and temple popped and his skin turned an angry shade of red.
"My name isn't Alice Edgley anymore. It's Azealia Raven, and it has been for a while now. You have no power over me, bastard. So, go to hell." She snarled at him and raked her nails across his face as she slapped him, drawing blood. She pulled her arms back as she opened them wide and then shot them forward to come together again as a rush of energy blasted Hansard far back onto the podium. "Come on Vivi, let's go. We're done here." She nodded to her sister.
"WAIT! Viviana Vixen, why would you join them when your brethren are right here! You are of Faceless One's blood. You are directly descended from the Unnamed's brother, The Forgotten! Would you turn on your own Father? Your siblings? These are your family, it is your duty to serve them as such." Hansard bargained desperately. The Unnamed had told him of the threat Vivi and Alice posed together. The one and only weakness of the Unnamed. The only way to stop him rested with them, and Alice had figured it out, thanks to the Enchantress.
"Alice is my sister. I don't care if I am part Faceless One, I'm wholly an Edgley. This is my family." Vivi stood her ground as she looped her arm through Alice's and glanced at Valkyrie's shocked expression behind her.
"STOP THEM! SOMEONE KILL THEM NOW!" Hansard's fury tripled despite Alice's belief that this wasn't possible.
But Alice and Vivi ignored him as they turned their back and walked towards the wall where Valkyrie, Skulduggery, Dexter, Tanith, Ghastly, Ellion, Sapphire, and the unknown dark-haired boy had backed up to.
"You FOOL Alice! I have an army of GODS! You will never win!" he spat as he raged.
"Who said we were without powerful allies?" she raised a perfectly arches eyebrow and sent a flare of sparking, golden embers into the air. It was the signal.
Several people stopped fighting as Alice brought up a barrier of air between her side and Hansard's. Her own little army gathered in front of her and she looked upon the faces and grinned at her own plan.
"I am Azealia Raven!" she yelled out to both Hansard's fanatics and the Roarhaven Mages on and behind the wall. "and I know how to stop the Unnamed. I know how to end this. Look at what I've accomplished on my own. Look at my supporters. Darquesse, the god-woman murderess! Melancholia Saint Clair, the death bringer! Solomon Wreath, one of the best necromancers known to this planet. The vampire Dusk, arguably the most dangerous of his kind! Hopeless and Larrakin, resurrected Dead Men. Stephanie Edgley, the reflection turned human and wielder of the sceptre of the ancients. Kenspeckle Grouse, the most genius and talented healer ever to live! Mr Bliss, the extremely powerful and extremely feared brother of Grand Mage Sorrows. General Mantis, the crenga who has commanded successful missions and armies for centuries! Captain Regis, Ashione, and their army of soldiers who burned on this very field several years before. Springheeled Jack, the only known creature of his kind and the terror of London. Black Annis, the blue cannibal monster.
"Billy-Ray Sanguine the burrowing psychopathic hitman supreme. Sabine the leech. Vincent Foe and his gang of killers, Mercy, Obloquy, and Samuel. Ex Grand Mage and traitorous scumbag Erskine Ravel, I don't know why you're here. Charivari the warlock legend and his people! Dreylan Scarab, a mastermind of the war. Caelen the obsessive vampire. Three of the best Elders Ireland has had, Eachen Meritorious, Morwenna Crow, and Sagious Tome! Moloch and his slaughtered vampires. Tesseract the Russian assassin. The white Cleaver! Do I need to name anymore?! This is the most impressive line up of sorcerers since the great war with Mevolant!" Alice yelled to everyone, she knew she had captured their attention.
She swirled her hands in alternate directions with her wrists joined together as holographic sparks flew in a spiral hovering in front of her, and then shut her fingers, pulling her wrists apart in a sharp movement. The sparks flashed a bright light and a portal opened as seemingly never-ending lines of marching faeries from the alternate dimension marched through. A gust of wind blew through, setting everyone off balance as Alice shut the portal after the multitude of fae warriors came through. "I may just be one girl, but I have the magic of a goddess. I am gifted and chosen by the Enchantress. And so is my sister, Vivi. We are the Destined. The Unnamed can only be defeated by his own blood. I am half Enchantress and Vivi is half Forgotten. Together we make the combined power of two of the three founders and we can win this fight!" she yelled and the crowds of her army and the Roarhaven mages behind and atop the wall raised their fists to the air in a roaring battle cry. She beamed and overlooked what she had accomplished. All she had rallied. And she knew who she was.
