*Lynn's P.O.V*
“Let me see that grin!” Christina yells.
“Vote for Lynn!” Adrian finishes. She and Chris have been yelling that for the past hour, practically throwing buttons and posters with my face on them down the hallway at school. This week is spirit week, in two days it will be homecoming. I actually think that I might have a chance. Today, which is Wednesday, is the day when the people who are nominated ‘advertise’ and beg everyone to vote for them. My job for this day was to just sit there and look pretty as my crazy friends/campaign reps try to win people over. My cheeks are hurting so bad from all of this smiling. I don’t really understand why I am even trying because everyone knows Brynn is practically a shoe in. The cheer captain has won Homecoming queen every year for as long as I can remember. But who knows my friends and I put a lot of effort into this. Maybe all of our hard work will pay off.
Ring!
The bell rings signaling that it is time to go home. Everyone got to skip the whole second half of the day just for this event. I stand up, grimacing when my knees pop from all of that sitting, and hear my phone buzz telling me that I have a new text.
He babe, sorry I know that we were supposed to go shopping for a shirt to match your dress, but something came up and I will have to do that later. Don’t worry I know the color of your dress; I can handle this on my own!
I quickly text back.
Okay L the girls and I will get a ride back with Joe.
I guess Liam got busy or something and he never texted back. I shoot Joe a quick text saying to come pick us up.
“Hey guys Joe has to pick us up, Liam can’t make it,” I tell my friends kind of disappointed.
“Ohh! I call shotgun! That way it is easy to stare at your brothers dreamy muscles!” Adrian coos.
“Ew, grossss!” I respond to my love sick best friend.
“Sorry, I have to go shirt shopping with Mason. I will have him drop me off at your house after. I’m sure he knows how to get there, ya know because of Brynn and all,” Chris says nonchalantly, not looking up from texting.
“Alright, sure,” I sigh, receiving a text from Joe telling me that he is here. Chris and I are still a little weird since the whole diner situation but we agreed that Brynn will just have to figure it out on her own. Which will probably when Mason shows up at our house Friday for pictures.
“Hello ladies!” my brother says as we walk out of the front of the school. “What—Adrian. W--hat are you doing?” exclaims my brother when my crazy friend opens the driver side door and literally crawls over him, blatantly touching his biceps as she somersaults into the passenger seat.
“Smooth,” I chuckle under my breath as I take a seat behind Joe.

“Don’t forget to wear school colors today!” I yell to my friends who are still getting ready. Today is Friday, tonight is the dance. I got up way before Adrian and Chris did, who have spent the night at my house the past two days. I am really nervous about tonight so I got up way early to make sure I look great to make a lasting impression on those who haven’t voted yet. I put on my left gold owl earring in and straighten my gold, tight, not-too-mini, mini skirt. Making sure my eggplant purple shirt, with wide ruffles over one shoulder, is tucked into my shimmering skirt perfectly without any lumps. My hair is in very big bouncy curls over my bare shoulder, tucked in a very messy side pony. I bobby-pinned it to heck to make sure it didn’t go anywhere.
