Double Take

Chapter 8

*Brynn's POV*

"Why the hell would they nominate Lynn?" Tanya questioned as I was gathering the things I needed for homework out of my locker.

"I don't know," I sighed frustratingly. Tanya and I were both pretty pissed that my twin sister was running against me for homecoming queen.

"She's not going to win, you are. If she thinks she is going to win this, she has another thing coming,"

"I know. Hope she doesn't get her wittle hopes to high," I pretended to pout. Tanya and I both laughed as I shut my locker and headed outside.

When we walked out to the parking lot where all the seniors parked, there was a huge crowd.

"I wonder what's going on over there?" I asked.

"Who knows, but let's go check it out!" Tanya said grabbing my wrist and dragging me over to the crowd. We mad our way through until we could see what was going on. Liam was by his car which had lilies shaped in a heart on the hood of his car with what looked like an iPad in the middle. i couldn't see what it said because I was standing to the side of it.

All of sudden Lynn and Adrian emerged from the crowd.

"Liam, must be asking her to homecoming," Tanya said rolling her eyes.

"Wait, Lynn hates lilies," I told Tanya.

"Oh my gosh, yeah, she does. Why would he get her lilies, those are your favorite... Awkward..." Tanya said.

By the look on Lynn's face, she didn't seem to mind. How could she not care? Her own boyfriend got her the flowers her sister loves she hates, weird. If that were my boyfriend, I'd be beyond pissed. But this is Lynn and she's really passive with a lot. But that's her problem.

Tanya and I walked away from the crowd. 

"Well that was a waste of time. Sleepover at my place?" I asked Tanya, "I can call Joe and ask him to pick us up,"

"I can't I have plans with Danny tonight, but tomorrow we'll spend all day together shopping, talking about homecoming, and then have a sleepover tomorrow night, okay?" She smiled.

"That's fine, I'll see you tomorrow! Have fun with Danny, but not too much fun," I teased her giving her a wink.

"Shut up, perv," She laughed.

I watched her walk off to Danny's car and hop in. I looked back to see that the crowd had went away and Liam's car was no longer there and neither was Lynn or Adrian, they must've went to go hang out somewhere. I pulled out my phone and called Joe to come pick me up. Guess tonight was going to be a loner night for me since Tanya was off with her boyfriend and Kyle was hanging out with his guy friends.

I waited at the front of school where I informed Joe to come pick me up. Luckily he wasn't busy so it didn't take him long to get here.

"Hey, I'm surprised you called for a ride," Joe said as I climbed inside his truck and shut the door.

"Why?" 

"Usually you hang out with Tanya or Kyle on Friday nights,"

"Oh. Well they're both busy so I'm alone for the night,"

"You can hang out with Tyler and I until we leave for our party later," 

"Sounds like a blast," I said sarcastically, "wait, can I go to the party with you?"

"No way! There's going to be a bunch of alcohol and horny twenty year old guys there and I'm not going to let my baby sister get drunk and have guys that are too old for her all over her. Sorry,"
