Chenkai pt. 1

OK, so I'm making a few parts to this because it's a bit long, but trust me I'm sure you guys will like it

"Kai, are you OK?" I said gently. 

"Just tired." He mumbled, smiling up at me.

I felt his forehead. "Maybe some water?"

"Yes, actually." He said. I nodded and jogged off, coming back with a cold water bottle. He chugged half of it down.

"Careful, you don't want to choke." I said. He took the bottle away and coughed. I patted and rubbed his back.

"I'm good." He choked. I smiled and rubbed his cheek.

"You sure? I think you might have a fever."

"No, I'm fine." He said.

"Alright, suit yourself." I said, smiling.

I shook my head. It was a few hours later, and sure enough, Kai had a fever. A bad one. He coughed, threw up, and couldn't think straight. I think at one point he thought I was a girl, because he kept on calling me sweetheart.

"Or maybe he thought you were D.O." Sehun whispered. I covered my mouth, hiding a hysterical laugh. Yes, that was probably it.

I came back to Kai with a new rag to see that he was awake. He was staring at the ceiling, and looked a bit sad.

"Kai," I said gently, sitting on his bed. He looked over and gave a breathtaking smile.

"Sweetheart," He breathed, and sat up. I gently pushed him back down and put the rag on his head. He took my hand, smiling.

"I was waiting for you." He whispered.

"Aw, you don't have to do that, Kai." I said, caressing his head. "Look, I'm always in the other room. If anything, simply call out and I'll come."

"You promise you'll come every time?" He said, squeezing my hand weakly. I forced away a wince at the way Kai said 'every time'.

"Of course." I managed. He smiled widely and kissed my hand.

"Thank you, sweetheart." He said. He then closed his eyes and fell asleep. 

'How bad could it be?' I thought. 'It's just a little fever.'
