Hunhan pt. 2

"I'm so sorry, Sehun."

"It was purely a freak accident!"

"None of it was your fault-"

"Stop," Sehun sobbed, clutching Luhan's sheets as he kneeled next to the bed. "Stop it, just go away."

"Sehun, you have to understand it wasn't your fault." Kris said, placing a gentle hand on the maknae's shoulder. But Sehun twitched his shoulder, agitated. He was too busy beating himself up to notice someone enter the room, or the rest of EXO filing out, until he felt a gentle tap on his head. He looked up blearily to see a man in a white coat and a serious face.

"Yes, doctor?" He croaked. He quickly cleared his throat.

"Well, do you want the long, complicated version or-" he saw Sehun's lip tremble and sighed. "Short version it is. The hit damaged the part of the brain responsible for normal bodily functions, like breathing. He will have to stay on the machine for four months, until..."

Sehun looked up again. The doctor had a heavy look on his face.

"Until?" Sehun whispered, trembling. The doctor avoided his eye, reaching over to check the wires.

"Until?" Sehun urged, starting to shudder. He clutched the bedsheet again, too scared to even skim Luhan.

"We... well, the hospital pays for the first two months, but since it's EXO, we decided four months. But after that... well, you'll have to keep up the payments."

"And... and if we can't..." Sehun took a deep, shuddering breath. "If we can't keep up?"

The doctor looked down, sighing sadly. "I'm very sorry, Oh Sehun- but then we'll have to pull the plug."

"Another week!"

"Sehun-"

"No, come on, just one more week! He can do it!"

"Sehun, please, it's getting ridiculously expensive. We can't keep up." Suho said, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry, but I think..." Kris breathed a heavy sigh, head hanging as he scanned the medical bill. "... I think it's time to let him go."

"No, please!" Sehun pleaded, falling into his knees in front of the two. "Please, I'm begging you, just one more week! He's getting so strong!"

Suho's breath hitched, and he gently grabbed Sehun's shoulder. "Sehun-" 

"At least to say goodbye," he whimpered, tears flowing down his cheeks. "Properly."

Kris and Suho shared a look before looking back at the younger. They took a glance at the price and sighed together.

"One more week. To get everything ready."
