"Class, we have a new student, her name is y/n l/n. She has recently transferred from s/n high school. And as of today, she will be attending here." Sensei said as he introduced the young girl, she wore a cheerful look on her face despite the look of exhaustion that lingered in her e/c eyes.

She bowed in front of her classmates as she then maneuvered to her seat silently. Her hair looked; soft, short yet it appeared to be thinning, a detail no one could have noticed unless pointed out. Her body appeared thin, small. Yet she looked so beautiful. That was the day, Mitsukuni knew he was in love. He admired everything about her from her soft skin, and soft-spoken voice.

That day was the day in which everything changed for them both. As months went by, their bond grew stronger, to the point of becoming a couple. His heart filled with joy, every day he would walk her home, holding her cold clammy hands while doing so.

It was the first time, y/n ever felt this way for someone. Hell, he was her first boyfriend after all. He made her feel safe, as if she could tell him anything. It wasn't until the sixth month of dating when y/n came out and informed him about her sickness. He felt angry, hurt. Why did y/n keep this away from him for so long?

"Why didn't you tell me, y/n chan?" He questioned the girl, as they continued to walk.

The cold bitter air lingered past them, "I didn't know how to, I'm sorry." she murmured in reply. He watched her in awe and concern, her school scarf was snuggled close to her neck, as her short hair blew in the wind.

"You mean everything to me, I would hate for something to happen to you, y/n." He commented, as his hand gripped her tightly. "I don't want to lose you," he continued.

"You won't, I'll be by your side forever," She responded.

Once approaching her home, y/n turned to face him. He didn't want it to end here, he was afraid, scared of what was to come next. He couldn't bring himself to let go, not just yet at least. He watched as y/n placed a small kiss on his cold cheek, before she reached for her key to enter her home.

"Thank you for walking me home." She said. Mitsukuni gave her a small smile before nodding his head. He watched as she walked inside, his heart pounded in his chest, he had butterflies in his stomach, he felt anxious, something wasn't right.

It felt off, he just knew it would be the last time he would be able to walk her home, because, after tonight, she would be returning to her rightful home.
