When Karma Hits You

Chapter 18

Few months passed

     Things has changed. I'm still working in this company despite of the "awkward moment" and "not-so-good" happened with me and Sir Rhance. He is still my superior, though. Personal feelings should be set aside from work, as what they say. Be professional. So far, we manage to work well beside those 'gap' between us. It should be. I am working in the same office with him so as to him, he is also working in the same office as mine.

"Renee', let's go!" Gail said. "The event is ready."

"Let's go." Lindie said.

"Don't forget to lock your desktop before you leave." Mac said.

"I'm done. Let's go." I said to them. Then we leave.

This is a company event. Today is the fiftieth year of the company. Today is its foundation day. So, we all dressed well today. It is a special event.

As we entered the hall, it was an enchant thing. Well, the theme of the event is 'Grand Ball for Prince and Princesses'. It looks so good. They are all wearing a costume as to a Prince and a Princess wore.

Gail is wearing a dress inspired of Beauty and the Beast fairytale story. While Lindie is wearing a dress inspired of Sleeping Beauty story. And Mac is wearing a suit inspired of Prince of Persia. And I am wearing a dress inspired of Cinderella.

We went in the table that reserved for us. There, I saw Ma'am Iya's waiting for us. She's really so beautiful. The dress suits her perfectly. Her skin is too fair that match with the character she was portraying for. She is wearing a dress inspired of Snow White.

"Guys, this way!" She called us as we entered the reception area.

"Hi Ma'am Iya! You look so good on that dress!" Lindie said.

"Oh, Thank you! You too, Lindie!" She said.

We sit in our chair. Our table is located in the middle. So, we are in front of the grand stage. Gail is sitting in my left side and Mac is sitting in left side of Gail then Lindie is sitting on Mac's right. Ma'am Iya is sitting after Lindie. She's sitting in front of me. And there's a vacant chair on my right side. And I am sitting beside Gail, in front of stage, in front of Ma'am Iya. There's a vacant chair in between me and Ma'am Iya.
    
     I look around. I'm looking for something, for someone rather.

     "Who's you're looking for?" Gail whispered to me.

      "Ah... Nothing." I just said and look in the stage in front of me. I feel my insecurity arise at the moment because of Ma'am Iya.

      "Nothing? Sure?" Gail tease me.

      "Ma'am Iya, where's Sir Rhance?" Gail asked it to Iya.

      "He's coming. I already reserved a sit for him." She said and pointed the vacant chair in between us.
    
       I see. He is coming. The event was started already but he is still not here. They do have many activities and of course awardees. So many productions that they'd shown. It was fun. Worth it. The event was almost done when I saw the emcee is proceeding in the middle of the stage.

      "Hi Guys! How's you doing?" He said.

     "We're doing great!" The crowd shouted.

      "Good to hear that!" He shouted back.

     "We have a special number here. Before the night will end, he will sing a song that will inspired all of us." He said. "Get ready to feel the hot tonight! Enjoy!" He shouted.
