ADALINE'S POV
Today was the dress fitting for the wedding. I was one of the bridesmaids in the wedding along with Meredith and Lily's friend, Sophie. Her sister, Maggie, was the maid of honour.
At the moment I was thirteen weeks along. No one knows about the baby except Meredith and Nora. I still haven't told my family yet in fear of how they'd react. With this dress fitting though I knew I'd have to tell Lily, gladly she could keep a secret.
"How does it feel?" Meredith asked me as we both stood in our dresses in the dressing room.
"Tight. Especially when you zipped up the back. I knew me clothes would get tighter, but this I didn't expect this soon." I said, letting out a small sigh of defeat.
Meredith unzipped the back and looked at me. "There, you should just keep it unzipped for now. You're going to have to tell them today about it. Ye can't hide that bump for much longer."
"I know.."
"Come on, let's get out there."
The two of us walked out to the others. The three of them were in a deep conversation about the wedding. Maggie looked over at us and turned me around to look at the back of my dress. "Adaline, is something wrong with your dress? You two couldn't get it zipped up?"
When she said that Lily practically jumped towards me. "Something's wrong with the dress? Did they hem it wrong? They almost had all of them perfect so far.. I'll go have a talk with the seamstress." She said as she began to go find the seamstress.
"No, no. Lily, wait!"
She quickly stopped, turning around to face us. "Why? What's wrong? We have to get the dress fixed."
"There's nothing wrong with the dress. It's nothing they did to cause the dress to be too small.." I looked over at Meredith who gave me a comforting smile before I turned back to Lily and the others. "The reason the dress doesn't fit is because I'm pregnant.."
The three of them stood there in shock, not saying a word. They all just looked me over.
"I'll be about twenty-seven weeks along at the wedding.. Lily, I'm so sorry.. I know this will mess things up with the dress now."
"Why are you apologising? I'm so happy for you! I'm going to have a niece or nephew!" She smiled as she walked over and hugged me. "I can't believe I didn't notice your small bump! How far along are you?"
"Thirteen weeks. I only found out a few weeks ago myself."
"You haven't told your parents or anyone yet, have you?"
I shook my head and sat down on the couch that was there. "The only people who know are all of you. I was tryin' to hide this for as long as I could. Me parents are gonna flip."
"Especially when they find out who the father is.." Meredith muttered as I shot her a look.
Sophie glanced at her before looking over at me. "What's she mean? Do you have a new boyfriend we don't know about?"
"We're not together.. and you probably wouldn't believe me when I told you anyway."
"Oh come on, is it your boss's son? Or one of your old boyfriends?"
Maggie smiled over at me. "Is it Max? Oh, you two were so cute! I knew you'd get back together."
"It's Paul McCartney." Meredith blurted out, much to my dismay.
